Richie Tozier was willing to do anything, to make Sadie Tyler not hate him anymore. Well, she doesn't hate Richie, she infatuated with him. Richie being Richie, was too delirious to even notice this.
Sadie knew it wasn't Richie who kissed Beverly. She knew that now. She knows that there is some weird, freaky force that is making her see things. Maybe she was going crazy. She just wasn't sure, about what she was feeling. She felt something towards Richie, she just didn't want to admit it. She feared for rejection or worse, the lifetime of embarrassment. Sadie was not willing to give up what kind of friendship she had with Richie over some stupid little crush that would just disappear in a matter of weeks. She wished it wouldn't. She prayed that he would like her back, but she knew that he didn't. There are girls like Beverly Marsh or Betty Ripsom and then there's just Sadie Tyler. Plain, boring, and just ugly. That's what she thought.
But Richie's nice comments made her feel so much better about herself, she just didn't want to admit it, yet again.
Now with Richie, it was a whole different story, he was in love with Sadie. She was the only girl on his mind. He dreamed of her, hell he even daydreamed about her. That morning, Richie Tozier was going to tell Sadie how he felt, but he couldn't. He would freeze up with his words, that's when he would resort to his blunt and snarky comments. He couldn't help it, she was angelic. Everything about her was perfect, her hair, her eyes, her lips. Richie could go on and on forever. Hell, he could write a million page essay on how perfect, Sadie Tyler is.
Richie Tozier was in love and boy was it deep. He makes sure Sadie knows how important Sadie is to him. That's why he calls her beautiful. That's why Richie Tozier tried his hardest to be funny in front of her. He was in love with a girl who loved him back, but she was too scared to admit it. Eddie even tried to invite her to everything that involved Richie Tozier because he knew. everyone knew, that they were in love and were too dumb to admit it.
That's why Richie Tozier got on his bicycle around 7:25 PM. That's why Richie Tozier rode his bicycle to Sadie Tyler's house. That's why Richie Tozier knocked on her bedroom window. That's why Sadie Tyler let him in. That's why Richie Tozier and Sadie Tyler sat awake for hours talking bullshit.
Because they are in love.
