"Who are you?"

Sang-hyeok hissed, looking around for the source of the voice.

He saw nothing.

Except a motionless, lifeless-looking version of himself lying on a bed in a room nearby. His eyes travelled to the heart monitor and noticed that he had a heartbeat.

It was rather weak, but it was still there.

So... He's alive?

He felt sick. Oh god, no. He didn't want to be alive. He pulled that damned trigger for a reason.

How the heck was he still alive?

No, no, no...

If he wakes up, how will he face his members? He had wanted to leave this world in peace after talking to them on last time. He didn't intend to wake up and face all the horrors in the world all over again. He didn't want to hear any more trash-talking, any more trolling, any more people claiming that he didn't deserve all his achievements.

He's had enough of that, he wants to run away.

He can't take any more of all that anymore.

"Well, Lee Sang-hyeok. You don't need to know who I am. Just let me do my job," the voice came back again.

Sang-hyeok didn't like the voice, it sounded warped and distorted, as if someone was using a voice synthesizer. It honestly creeped him out. He remembered seeing some Twitch streamers using those mics with synthesizers and changing their voices.

The voice chuckled. "No, I'm not using a voice synthesizer. In fact, I don't need any sort of human technology."

'Wait... It can read my thoughts?!' Sang-hyeok began to panic as he quickly looked around, trying to find the source of the voice, but still, he saw nothing.

This whole thing was freaking him out. Why can't he just die in peace?

"Yes I can read your thoughts," the voice sighed, as if already used to these sorts of questions, "Look. I'm basically here to make sure you really wanted to die."

Sang-hyeok snorted. "Wasn't me shooting myself enough? What makes you think that I don't want to die?"

The voice sighed. "Sang-hyeok," it said, its tone much like a mother trying to coax a sulking child, "Your death wasn't fated, well, suicides aren't fated in general. Therefore you are obligated to pass a test before you can move on to the afterlife."

"And the test is supposed to prove that I really intended to kill myself?" Sang-hyeok rolled his eyes.

"Yes. It'll only take a short while. Bear with me, alright? It's my job, after all."

Sang-hyeok groaned. "Fine."

Suddenly, a white mist materialized beside him. It had a humanoid shape, but had no face, or any features in general.

The human-shaped mist turned to face Sang-hyeok.

"Alright, Lee Sang-hyeok," it said in a cheerful tone,

"Shall we begin?"

...

A blinding flash came over the two, and Sang-hyeok found himself in a hospital room.

The very room where his body lay, with the heartbeat monitor that was still beeping.

The Mist - whatever it was - stood beside Sang-hyeok. "Observe," it said.
