"All hail the Pun King! AKA: me." Maddox smirked, as he held his hands up.
"Gosh damnit." I didn't want to say it the other way, it's disrespectful to my uncle. "What's the pun of the day?"
"Have you ever tried to eat a clock?" He grabbed a clock, "it's very time consuming." I held a straight face, even though he was chuckling. "Damn, Lils, you're a stone. I'd tell you a chemistry joke, because we're going to chemistry, but I wouldn't get a reaction." He nudged me again, and I crossed my arms.
"You're so lame."
"Okay, okay. This isn't a pun, but it is a riddle."
"Oh, dear Lord."
"What did the Mad Hatter's son ask Hades's daughter?"
"Why the hell can't I come up with better jokes?" I smirked at my answer, but he rolled his eyes.
"Not even close." He pauses, "tell ya what— If you can answer this riddle, I'll give you the money to buy you that necklace." He smiled,
"Oh yeah? And if you win?"
"I tell you the answer and you say yes. P.S., that was also a hint, so you can't get another. Oh, and you only have two days." I had to think for a second.
This has to be a dare, plus he could change it anytime he wanted to. If it's something like 'can you scrub the bunions off my feet' then I'm going to Hell. Literally.
"You got yourself a deal, Mads." I grabbed his hand, and shook it.
"Oh, you're never going to get it."
"Geez, there goes my confidence."
"Beautiful, have you ever lost your confidence?"
". . .no."
"Exactly, so chill out." He chuckled,
"Let's just go to class."
"Wanna take a quick guess before we go in?"
"Okay, um. . .'will you do all my chores?'" I crossed my arms, and he shook his head.
"Not even close."

Soon, the nest day came, and then the next, as the sun was setting, me and Maddox sat out on the grass watching it.
I was pissed I couldn't find the answer to that stupid riddle, and it was probably some stupid dare he's going to make me do, and I have to do it.
And I really wanted that necklace.
"Give up yet, L?"
"No. Lilith never gives up!"
"Don't talk about yourself in third person, it's cringe." He shook his head.
