  "Hey, Lils, nice necklace

"Hey, Lils, nice necklace." Maddox squinted at my neck.

  Shit!

  "Uh, Maddox, um. . ."

"You don't have to explain. You hunted down whoever had the necklace and stole it? Don't worry-- Your secret is safe with me. Just, please, don't steal." He looked slightly disappointed, but it's better than him knowing how I actually got it.

"I promise I won't steal, again." I nodded, as we walked into class.

  "Good."

"Hey, Lilith, can we talk?" Harry walked into my dorm.

  "Sure, why?"

"I'm thinking about asking a girl out."

That's weird, I thought, he was confessing his 'love' for me about a week ago.

"Who?"

"Malie, the girl who talks to the ocean. We've been talking for a long time, and I've been thinking of asking her out. You know if he liked anyone?"

"She's not seeing anymore, to my knowledge. I don't think she really likes anyone. Hey, maybe you have a shot. I'm rooting for you, Har. You deserve someone." I gave him a side hug, and he smirked.

"Have a nice time with Maddox, he make you crazy yet?"

I rolled my eyes, and smacked his shoulder. "You ruined the moment. No, he's actually really sweet. And he found out about the necklace, but he assumed I stole it from someone." I shrugged,

"Eh, it wouldn't matter if you told him I bought it for you. The worst he could do was attempt to attack me, or something."

"Or assume I'm cheating on him, which leads to a break up. We don't want that." I shook my head, as I stood up to fix the photo of me and all of my friends.

The photo laid on my night stand, as the same photograph was on Uma's night stand, but instead of a black frame, it was a teal-blue.

"So, how do I ask her out?"

"Just say 'Hey, Malie. I think I like you, wanna go on a date and see where that leads?' Boom, easy peasy." I winked at him, and he rolled his eyes.

  "What if I get rejected?"

"You get rejected. Did you overthink this when you asked me out?" I crossed my arms.

"Not really; I didn't think. I wasn't as scared of rejection. When we kissed, it felt amazing, and when you said you've never had a real boyfriend, I took that as you wanting me."

"Assumptions, don't make assumptions. I made plenty of those, and trust me, when you assume, you don't always get what you expect. Like the 'ass' in assume. When you write it, you might think someone is writing the word 'ass' but they're actually spelling assume. You end up getting proved wrong. And I hate being wrong."
