"Hello miss, can we ask you something?" A man with a microphone asks me, followed by one with a camera.
"Sure."
"Do you know where the Harmony Community Park is?"
"I'm sorry, I'm not from around here. I've been flying over from Europe."
"Europe? What brings you here?"
"It's kind of a long story..."
"Doesn't matter, we have enough time."
"Okay, well do you know Josh Hutcherson?"
"Of course, what about him?"
"He's recently passed away."
"O god, I didn't know..."
"Anyways, in my younger days I had a huge celebrity crush on him. And of course I knew him from the Hunger Games. However some fans were saying 'at least I knew him before the Hunger Games' and I hated it so much, because a true fan isn't someone who was there from the beginning, it's someone who is willing to be there until the very end. So I never stopped loving him, I kept fangirling about him in movies and I adored everyone of them."
"So you've been a fan for what? Twenty years now?"
"Yes, twenty one to be precise."
"Respect... That's what we call a true fan."
"Thank you. And of course I didn't know him in person, so it's way worse for his friends and family. But you know, his wife died young from cancer and they deserve to be together, so I hope they are reunited now and happy, because that's all that matters." I tear up again, "I'm sorry." I look down and wipe my tears away.
"It's okay, it's okay. You can mourn. How long have you been here?"
"Once I heard the bad news, I booked a plane ticket to Kentucky the same night, two days later I left my home. I've never been outside of Europe so with all the pain comes a little fun. I've been here for three days now and the first day was the worst. I walked into that graveyard and saw his tombstone and I fell down crying, just like I had done when I first heard about this. I sat there for hours, finally being with Josh. Because, you know, I've never met him, but now I sort of did, right? So I talked to him and told him everything I wanted to get of my chest. The next day I came back and talked a little to him, of course I cried again. And now I'm planning on going by every morning to talk to him and the rest of the day I'm trying to enjoy my time here."
"You've never met him and still stayed loyal to him for twenty one years! Wow, he must have a huge place in your heart."
Tears start to roll down my cheeks. "He has, my heart is divided in two, one for my daughter and one for Josh."
"Come here." The stranger hugs me.
"Thank you, and I'm so sorry for ruining your time, I knew you were headed somewhere."
"Girl, this is way better than that stupid park. Do you mind if we use this for our channel?"
"No, of course not. Thank you for listening to my story."
"No problem and take your time to mourn, I can't promise you it will get better, but it will get easier, just take all the time you need. You deserve all the happiness in the world right now. "
