Ame.

あめ。

雨。

Rain.

Sentence example:

Ame ga futte iru.

あめ  が  ふって  いる。

  が  ふって  いる。

It is raining.

Side Note:

*Ga「が」is a subject particle.

Since 'Ame' 「雨」is the main subject of the sentence, it is added after it.

*futte 「ふって」as you may have already guessed, it means rain.

Furu is the actual word but to make it a continuous sentence we add tte 「って」 .

*Iru is to exist. It is used for inanimate object.
Since rain is not 'alive' it is appropriate to use it here.
