3rd Person

(Y/n) (L/n) and Stanley Uris. They had been best friends for years, but recently, Stan had been ignoring her. It was affecting (y/n), badly.

Everytime she saw Stan at school, she'd try to start a conversation, but he'd just ignore her and walk away with his new friends.

So she decided to leave him alone. It hurt, not speaking to him for so long, but over time, she got used to ignoring her once-best friend. That was until she met her new best friend, Beverly Marsh.

They had met in the bathrooms, when Gretta was there. The other girls had poured a bag of wet trash on Beverly, but she put her bag up so she didn't get drenched.

And when (y/n) stood up for the girl, she ended up getting dunked in a toilet bowl. Gretta was a mythic bitch. It wasn't the mose ideal way to make a friend, but whatever.

"Hey, (y/n)? Some of my new friends are gonna meet up at the Quarry later, do you want to come?"

"Sure. What time?"

"Now."

And with that, Bev dragged (y/n) outside, and they began their trek to the Quarry.

When they got there, Bev's new friends seemed to be arguing over who would jump first. Bev nudged her friend, and yelled out; "We'll go!"

Bev stripped out of her dress, and (y/n) did too. She was curious as to how Bev did that without feeling really awkward.

They ran towards the edge of the cliff, and just before (y/n) jumped, she made eye contact with one of the boys in the group.

Her heart stopped.

What was Stan doing here?

Before (y/n) could stop herself, Bev had grabbed her and pulled her off the cliff, and into the water.

"(Y/n)? Why did you stop running?"

"S-Stan's here. You... y-you never said S-Stan would be h-here."

Bev tilted her head in confusion.

"What's wrong with Stan?"

"That's not the problem. There's nothing wrong with him. I'm the problem."

The boys started jumping into the water, which ended Bev and (y/n)'s conversation.

After swimming for a bit, everyone got out of the water and sat on the rocks. Bev was lying in the sun, and (y/n) awkwardly sat beside her, trying not to block the sun.

Every now and again, she'd catch Stan looking at her, and whenever she looked back, he'd turn away.

(Y/n) soon got bored of just sitting on the rocks, so she put her dress back on, and began walking away. No one said anything, as if she wasn't even there.

Just as she reached her bike, someone grabbed her wrist.

"Stan?"

The noodle-haired boy she had once called her best friend was gripping onto her wrist, as if letting go would kill him.

"What do you want, Stan?"

He didn't reply. (Y/n) waited for an answer, and when she didn't get one, she grabbed her bike and stood it upright.

"I'm sorry."

"What?"

"I'm sorry for ignoring you. I've been under a lot of pressure at home cause of my dad, and at school because of... reasons."

Stan was looking at the ground, while fiddling with his hands. He was definitely nervous. (Y/n) gave him an apologetic look.

"I understand. But next time, just tell me if you're stressed. And don't go ignoring your best friend. It hurt, you know. Seeing you with your new friends."

(Y/n) laughed a bit at the end of her sentence, and Stan looked up at her. She held out her hand in front of him.

"Friends again?"

"Friends again."

Stan grabbed her hand, but instead of shaking it, he pulled her into a hug.

"I'll see you later, Stan. Bye guys! Bye Bev!"

The others, who were still sitting on the rocks, yelled "bye" back, and you peddled off.

Stan made his way back to the rocks, where his friends were sitting.

"So... are you guys together yet?"

"No! What the fuck, Richie?"

Richie continued to pester Stan about (y/n), up to the point where Stan pushed Richie back into the water.

"What the fuck was that for?!"
