Every 27 Years
A poem

Every 27 years, the creature awakes
Ready to feast on the children it takes

Appearing as a clown to unsuspecting eyes
Unaware of the horror beneath the disguise

Missing children;
Georgie Denbrough, Betty Ripsom
The cause of their disappearences truly quite gruesome

Four boys;
Bill, Eddie, Richie and Stan
Trying to do all they can
Making new friends along the way
Mike, Ben and Beverly
Determined to save the day

The creepy old house
29 Neibolt Street
Beneath lies the children
It plans to eat

Pushing past their fears
On which It feeds
They storm the house
Desperate to succeed

With one final word
The clown falls down the well
And the kids are freed
From Derry's hell

Seven kids in a circle
Hand in hand
Blood dripping from their palms
As they stand

One by one, they leave the group
Going off in separate ways
But after what happened that Summer
They'll be connected til their dying days

They move on, grow up
And forget about their fears
Until It returns, as it does
Every 27 years
