You sat beside Richie, watching Stan complete the Torah reading for his Bar Mitzvah.

He was doing extremely well, considering he didn't get a lot of studying done.

He finished the reading, and moved on to his speech.

"Um, reflecting on what I just read; I like what it said about indifference."

From there, Stan's speech seemed to cause a bit of chaos throughout the temple.

But to you and Richie, it hit close to home. Maybe a bit too close.

"And you'll always have the same friends as when you were twelve."

Stan glanced over at you and Richie, and you smiled at him.

As he continued, people started to get concerned about the speech, as Stan was getting angrier and his speech was getting far to accurate.

"I guess, indifference is a part of growing up. Becoming an adult isn't about being able to vote. Or being able to drink or drive."

Stan walked off the dias, pulling the microphone cord as tight as possible.

"Becoming an adult, according to the Holy Scripture of Derry, is learning not to give a shit!"

Stan stormed out of the room, leaving everyone shocked. Richie stood up clapping, but was yanked down by Stan's mom.

You, on the other hand, ran out, following Stan. When you caught up to him, you pulled him into a massive hug.

He turned around, and quickly pecked you on the lips.

"You did amazing, Stan."
