"Clancy, she's gorgeous!" I exclaimed breathlessly.

It was true, she was perfection in every way.  She stood, her neck arched and her head inclined, obvious Arabian breeding showing in her refined nose and long, slender legs. Electronite's coat was a beautiful blood bay, with three crisp white socks and a gentle stripe running the length of her nose.

Clancy studied the filly, who regarded him warily.

"She seems to be faultless . . . I guess so, but only if you ride her first." he replied.

I agreed and called over the handler, who had been texting on his phone the whole time.

"Excuse me, Sir, but can I have her tacked up ready for a trial ride?" I asked, eager to feel her gaits.

"Certainly," he answered, and within minutes, I was astride the filly. She was much smaller than Mercutio, and that suited me just fine. I tapped her with my dressage crop and she sprang into a gentle walk. Eager for more, I tapped her again, and she stepped into a easy, flowing trot. I was sold.

10 minutes later, the deal was made and the forms signed. Clancy and I were now the new owners of Electronite. I was positively joyful. What good luck to own a gorgeous dressage mare and a handsome jumping horse at the same time! Our barn was full of prospects for the future.
