In the morning, I'm sitting up in bed and looking at the television. Not really watching it, but more so listening to it as my mind floats from different tasks in which I need to complete today.
I dial a number on my cell phone.
"Hello," a person answers after the second ring.
"May I speak to Ava Kross, please?"
"This is she."
"Hi, it's Sirrah."
I hear the phone clatter and a loud thud.
"Uh, hello? Ms. Ava? Hello?" I call out.
Someone picks the phone up and answers, "This must be Sirrah."
"Yes."
"Figured. I'm Allyira. Mom's been waiting for this day to happen."
"IS she going to be alright?"
"Yeah, she'll be okay. I think at some point down the road, she thought you would never call her. Until today."
"Well, I wanted to set something up so I could talk to her."
"I'll surely let her know once she wakes up from her dramatic coma."
I laugh, "Okay. Thank you. See ya."
"See ya."
We hang up.
Well, that didn't go the way I wanted it to. I would have liked to have actually spoken to Allyira, but I guess she had other things to do.
I get dressed and move from the bed to the rocking chair in the corner. I rub my tummy.
"Boy, you two are doing a lot of moving in there. Are you two excited about Shiriki and I getting married?"
I feel one a kick, "Yeah, I'm excited too."
Yuri comes into the room, "the wedding is back on?" She tries to hide her excitement.
I see Jordan standing behind her. I nod. Jordan takes off running down the stairs.
"What's going on?" I start to get up.
"No, don't get up," Yuri demands.
I slowly sit back down, "why not?"
"We've got something planned."
"How long has this been--."
"No questions. We'll come get you in a few hours. Just let us know if you need anything," she backs out of the room.
"Uhh, alright."
She too runs down the stairs. I get up and peek around the corner once I'm sure she is all the way down the stairs. Seeing the coast is clear, I tiptoe to the top of the stairs and just as I'm about to go down them...
"Where do you think you're going?"
Startled, I turn to see Jordan. How'd she come back up here without being heard? She's got the heaviest footsteps out of all of them.
"I don't know."
"Good. Come, let's get our nails done and some food, maybe." She links her arm with mine.
"I could use a foot massage. My feet have been swelling a lot," I say hesitantly.
"Yes, yes."
The foot massage this Korean lady is doing on my swollen feet is working wonders for me. I lull my head back and look over at Jordan to see her staring at me.
