When you had joined the team, you were relieved to know that everyone was super welcoming. Some more than others, even more than Garfield, Megan, Bart, and Jaime.
But you liked it. So when Jaime started to hang out with you more, you didn't think anything about it. He always called you,' Mi Amor'. Which was cute because he didn't know that you knew what it meant.
You were just waiting for the right time to tell him after all, you loved watching him get flustered. Just thinking about him being flustered about that cracked you up. Good thing you were in your room.
Maybe you could request a mission with him only. You decide that is the best choice you have and head out your door. You go to the control room, hoping to find Nightwing, and maybe even Robin.
Thankfully you find them both by pure luck, right in the place, you wanted them to be. They were not doing anything so you walked up behind them.
"Hey Y/n, what do you need?" Robin asked. This surprised you at first, how did he know you were here? But then you remember, detective duh.
"Hey, Robby and Night. So I need your help." They turned around intrigued in what you had to say. "So I need a special mission for me and Mr. Beetle. Please" You gave them a puppy dog look. (insert a really messed up face)
"I don't know Y/n. Why do you need this mission?" Nightwing asked. You went on to explain why and as you did a large smirk planted itself on Nightwings face.
"We will do it." He said. Robin looked at him weirdly. "I will ask Batman to set up an easy mission, we will tell you about it later Y/n. Okay?"
"More than okay, thanks, Robin and Nightwing! I will tell you about how the mission goes" you said.
"You better I want the details later N/n." Night said. You rolled your eyes at his silly antics, already ready for the mission. 'I wonder what it will be like?! Maybe he will kiss me...' you blushed at your own thoughts 'Who knows'.
Maybe the mission would be successful, maybe not. But all the bad thoughts in your head were growing, the good ones shrinking. 'What if he does not really like me?!'
"Ugh!" you screamed pushing away all the negative thoughts. "Just worry about the mission Y/N!"
"H/N and Blue Beetle please report for a mission briefing." The intercom said, 'finally it is time.'
You headed down the hall to the briefing room, all the while finding Blue Beetle by your side. "Hey, Mi Amor, do you know what the mission is about?" he asked you, using the nickname he gave you without really knowing.
You tried to bit back a smile and blush, shaking your head "No, I wish I did though. This makes no sense." you said, a little white lie couldn't hurt.
You both made it to the room where Batman was, with a hint of a smile on his face showing Nightwing told him the plan.
"*ahem* Blue Beetle, H/N. I have a mission for you both, nothing dangerous. A man just got out of prison and we need to make sure he doesn't revert back to his old ways, keep an eye on him" He said, his usual gruff voice.
You and Jamie both nodded, saying "Yes sir" and other things like collecting the files and walked out of the room.
"So Amour... We should get going if we wanna keep an eye on him." Jaime said, and though you have heard it so many times it felt brand new.
You nodded slightly at his earlier question. "Yeah, we don't want Nightwing and Bats to beat our asses if we lost the trail," you said.
You two rushed to the Zeta beams and typed in the last known location of the man. As you two excited the beams you headed up to a large building where you could see a large portion of the city you both were in.
Even if the mission was a setup Bats still told you both to be careful, so you were gonna be careful and sneaky at the same time. You looked over at Jaime, studying his handsome features.
He felt someone's eyes on him so he looked over at you, and caught you staring at him. A blush appeared on both of your faces as you looked away from each other.
"Mi Amor," there it goes with that nickname, "what is wrong?" he asked.
Okay, operation 'Why is Jaime calling me Mi Amor' is a go.
"Nothing Jaime" you tried to say seductively, but failing, "Anyways. Why are you calling me Mi Amor? And when were you finally gonna ask me to go out with you?"
All that was running through Jaime's head was, 'Oh shit, oh shit! She found out.'
"I don't know how I'm gonna tell you this but..... te amo, Y/n, te amo." You blushed, happy you knew a bit of Spanish you replied with
"Yo también te amo, Jamie."
"So, about that date..."
