Capitulum IV
.:: Lapsus Memoriae ::.After closing the door, Clark walks up to me, and informs me, "I just have some added business with the kitchen, Lana." Thanks to me. "I'll be right back." He walks past me to go the opposite direction.
I called out, "Hey, Clark, you mind if I take a look around your mansion?" As terrifying as it was for me, I really want to wander off and tour the place. My curiosity getting the better of me.
Clark was quick to respond, "Certainly. No problem. You just go and roam wherever you please, meanwhile, I'll check on our lunch. See how everything's coming along in the kitchen. Maybe the first course's ready." I nodded, and he walked off. I stopped short by the halls to stare at the abstract arts there on the wall. The watercolor paintings of landscapes weren't bad either.
I continue to walk the hallway, marveling in awe at the elegance and sophistication of the overall construction and 17th-century-inspired décor and architecture of the manor. At the same time, becoming more and more frightened by the sudden overwhelmingly ominous feeling coming over me with each step I take, as I penetrated deeper into the maze-like halls, the dark labyrinths of the cryptic Kent manor. I noticed one of the smaller charcoal paintings was sorta leaning to the side on its left. So I reached up to straighten it against the wall. It just bothers me when things are...askew; when they aren't how they are supposed to be. That I can't help my pedantic tendencies even when in other people's homes. The longer I stare at the tiniest details of this hallway, however, I couldn't explain it, but all here feel very familiar to me. I swear it's as if I've been here before.
