Brown Eyes

-

Love.

I see it every day.

Or the illusion of it.

I see it in those married couples who are constantly trying to make their relationships work by pretending that everything is okay through making their houses beautiful.

By wasting money on very expensive paintings or décor just to hide the truth that it is a house, and not a home.

I see it in husbands who are nowhere to be seen, but is present financially.

I experienced having to zip my mouth shut because I was aware a politician has another woman and this man hired me to design both of his women's houses.

I have seen despair and regret on a newly-married wife's face, because her husband isn't the man she wanted him to be.

And it's all part of my job to see and witness these things.

Family, marriage, home, couples.

Marami akong natututunan.

Marami sa mga taong iyon ang sigurado akong nagkamali sa pinili nilang direksyon sa buhay nila – they chased after the fairy-tale, and they ended up settling for what they can get, just because they can't admit the shattering truth: love, actual love, is at best, unbelievable.

Hindi lahat pinalad o papalarin na maka-experience n'on. May kakaunti lang sigurong nabigyan ng privilege, at sigurado akong kahit na mahanap mo iyon, along the way, you'll just end up losing it.

It's Halloween night at kababalik lamang ni Elliot kaya nagpasya kaming lumabas ngayon.

We went full-force with our costumes – Sienna is Veronica Lodge from the Archie Comics, AJ is a zombie Red Riding Hood, Elli went with Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove, and I am the bloody Mrs. Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction.

"Congrats, Jowee! Welcome back, but not for good, Elli!" palatak ni Sienna sa'min.

Don't you ever call to tell me you miss me, Sienna!" banta ni Elli sa'ming kaibigan.

Humalakhak na lang kaming lahat.

"Thanks, guys! Pero hindi pa tapos ang linggo ko," I exclaimed, talking about a project I just turned over this afternoon, and continued to drink. "I have a meeting, by request, at 9 tomorrow!
