Tick tock, tick tock.

The bell finally rang signaling the fifth period was over. Jumping out of my seat, I stuffed my books in my bag and rushed out the door.

The past couple days had gone smoothly and I was glad that I had made good friends with Ella. I hadn't seen much of her brother and was blessed for that.

Ella met me at my locker as I switched out the books I needed for the weekend.

"So in two weeks my mom and her husband are leaving for a trip and we have the house to ourselves. And by we I mean just Xander and I. I'm Officially inviting you to a sleepover. You stay over the entire weekend and if you want the week. Xander is throwing a party on Saturday, Sunday we will do girls day." Ella rushed out as we walked to my car.

"Uh, Ella I don't know about that. I'm not really the party type." I buckled my belt. I shoved the key in the ignition and started the car.

"Oh come on Tori, it will be fun. And if you feel any type of way you can always stay in one of the rooms." She bargained.

I chucked telling her that I will think about it. We drove down to local ice cream shops and grabbed a nice cold snack.

After paying for our frozen treats we sat down in by the window.

I moaned as the creamy vanilla taste mix with fruit and berries.

"So Hannah hasn't been around much." Ella said shoving her chocolate ice cream in her mouth.

I swallowed, "Yeah I saw it coming that night we met. She ditched to go have a one night stand with one of the jocks. That's always been Hannah's personality you know. Good looking guy comes along that shows so little interest in her and bam! She has no idea who her friends are." I shrug as I spoon more ice cream in my mouth.

"Tell me about it. I was in bio yesterday and she shoved some girl out of the way when we were told to go in pairs, just to sit next to Andy jenkins. But at least you have me now." I smiled at Ella and change the topic of conversation to the party that her Ana's Xander would be throwing.

"He really wants to throw it some his friends from back home come and stay for the weekend."

I nodded understanding.

"You know if you come at anytime your uncomfortable we will shift the party down." Ella said looking at her phone.

"You don't have too. It's you guys throwing the party. Party how you see fit." I finished my ice cream off.

"Okay. Hey Xander's car isn't working for some reason. Do you think you can meet him at the auto shop? Maybe take us home?" She asked as she finished off her frozen treat.

I nodded, "Of course. It's not a problem." We head to my car tossing the trash and head to pick up her brother.

Xander sat in the back seat behind me. Everytime I check the rearview mirror my hazel eyes would meet his deep green ones. Ella sat in the passenger seat playing with the Bluetooth and being today's dj.

The GPS spoke telling me where to take a turn. Taking the turning I was met with a large gate and a large security guy.

Xander rolled his window down, speaking very little words with the guy. The guy nodded and turned is back to press a series of buttons that opened the large gate.

I pressed on the gas moving the car forward. The dirt path looked beautiful they the cherry blossom tree. The petals from the trees had started falling off and created the most beautiful scenery.

A sound startled me, the stomping of what seemed to be large animals. I turned to my left and was greeted by a group of horses running along the fence.

How is stinking rich this guy?

"Stupid rich. He owns two software companies, a large chain of hotels, and a manufacturing company," Ella snorted.

Shit did I say that out loud? I thought to myself.

"Yes," A deep voice from behind me said.

"Oh." I drove a little faster.

"He owns, I think its thirty acres of land. Built the stables a couple years back. Has a house for his cars and the actual house has about twenty rooms. I think." I saw the look of confusion on Ella's face.

I nodded, rounding the water fountain and putting the car in park. I watched as a guy in a black pressed suit opened the door for Ella who was so consumed in trying to figure out if she was right about the number of rooms.

"Thanks for the ride." Xander stepped out grabbing his bag and closing the door.

"Yeah, thanks!" Ella finally stepped out. "Do you want to come in for a while?" I shook my head declining saying that I was to meet my father for dinner.

"Come over tomorrow, we can hang here or go out if you want." I nodded at the smiling. I pulled out of their driveway and started my journey home.

-

I sat at the dinner table with my dad. He was telling me about his day at work. Well, as much as he could tell me. He was a marriage counselor and doctor-patient confidentiality was a thing.

"You know bunny, it's sad to see love be broken up. I see couples who have tiny children and want to put themselves above their kids. I look at these people and just want to shake them till they get it's not just about them." I nod as my dad continues his rant.

"Dad, I wanted to ask you something. My friend Ella is having a sleepover in two weeks and I was hoping you'd let me go." I sip on some lemon water.

He smiles the creases in the smile lines showing. "Of course bunny, you know you don't have to ask me. I trust you to make the right decisions."

I nod thanking him and take our finished plates. I take them to the sink and start cleaning up.

My dad places a kiss on my temple for grabbing his things for another appointment.

I hear the front door softly shut and finish putting everything away. I stalk up the steps to my room, calling Ella as I sit on my bed.

"Sup tuts," I hear her burp and then laugh.

"So how many people are you expecting at this party?" I say opening my laptop.

"Dunno maybe the entire school and then some." She flipped the pages of what I assumed to be a book.

"I'll go under the condition your brother doesn't hit me with a door again. Then I might have to sue, I mean look at your house." I hear her laugh and agree.

I chat with her for a bit more talking about what we will wear to the party and some homework we had gotten.

I end the phone call telling her I'll be around her house at noon. We bid our goodbye and I get ready for bed.

As I close my eyes that night, my eyes go back to how Xander was looking at me when     I picked him up from the auto body shop.

The last thing I saw before my eyes closed were his forest green eyes.
