Spielberg announces new film which will star Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston
Astounding director Steven Spielberg’s new film, Demons, will star Sherlock and Star Trek into Darkness star Benedict Cumberbatch and Marvel villain Tom Hiddleston. The film is another war based drama but with a twist. At the latest London film convention Spielberg said, “Daniel Woodbridge (Tom Hiddleston) and Alexander Byrnes (Benedict Cumberbatch) both have post-traumatic stress disorder after military service in Afghanistan. Although they never met in Afghanistan itself they meet at a support group afterwards. That is all I am going to say.”
Tom Hiddleston fans, also known as Hiddlestoners and Benedict Cumberbatch’s CumberCollective have been going mad at the prospect at these two stars being in another film together. “It has been too long.” One fan said on tumblr.
Recently Hiddleston had an interview about Thor the Dark World and said, “Benedict (Cumberbatch) is a close friend of mine and I cannot wait to work with him again.” The last time they worked together was on another Spielberg film, War Horse.
The stars have already been given scripts and have been learning them against the clock as filming starts in only a week time. The film is being filmed in a range of locations including England and Australia. The “flashback” scenes of the war are being filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico where The Avengers (2011) was filmed. This is because, “It is quite a sandy area and is a similar terrain to Afghanistan.” Spielberg said.
It is said that filming is going to take up to two months and the film should be with us in six months. Other stars in the film include Olivia Coleman, Liam Hemsworth and David Tennant. More information will be with us shortly so remember to watch this space.
