2nd January – Tom’s Apartment

Tom is scrolling through some of the latest news and reviews of Sherlock which aired last night. The Empty Hearse was a great success and has caused sherlockians to go wild and wanting more. Tom enjoys Sherlock in fact he is a bit of a sherlockian himself and he cannot wait until the other episodes. Even though he lives and is partners with Ben, he knows nothing about the upcoming series.

SPOILERS: #SHERLOCKLIVES

Last night Sherlock, The Empty Hearse aired at 9PM on BBC1. The episode was watched by millions and will air in the US on PBS in a couple of weeks.

The main question that everyone was asking was: “How was it done?” well I can tell you that it still has not been confirmed how Sherlock (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) survived the fall but there were many theories shown. Anderson (played by Jonathan Aris) was a forensic scientist who persuaded people that Sherlock was a fraud. Due to guilt he founded a club called ‘The Empty Hearse’ where fans of the consulting detective meet and discuss theories. The theories explored were:

1)      Sherlock jumped but had a bungee cord pulling him back up. John Watson (played by Martin Freeman) didn’t see this because he was hit by a planned bicycle. The body on the pavement was said to be Jim Moriarty’s (played by Andrew Scott) body with a mask on. Meanwhile, Derren Brown hypnotized John to hold him up.

2)      Sherlock was a dummy which was pushed off the roof by Sherlock himself. He and Moriarty were sat against the wall giggling whilst Sherlock was on the phone. When the dummy fell the pair then leaned in and kissed – but this theory was just a bit of fun according to writer and co-creator Mark Gatiss who also plays Mycroft Holmes.

3)      Sherlock jumped and hit an airbag which was placed there by the homeless network. Molly Hooper (played by Louise Brealey) sorted out a corpse to put on the pavement whilst Sherlock was made to look all bloody. John was hit by the bike to stall him.

The reason for Sherlock’s return was because of Underground terrorist attack on London by a man named Lord Moran. (Could this be Sebastian Moran from the books?) He reunites himself with John at a restaurant where John was going to propose to his girlfriend, Mary Morstan (played by Amanda Abbington). Instead of a proposal John ends up having a fight with the consulting detective.

That is all I am going to say, but I cannot wait for the Sign of Three which is airing on Sunday 5th January on BBC1 at the earlier time of 8:30PM.

“Ready to go?” Benedict asks Tom entering the room with a black suitcase. Tom nods and points at the screen of his laptop at the article he is reading. “Believe me, people don’t enjoy it as much as I do making it.” He chuckles.

“You want a bet?” Tom raises his eyebrows. “I am sure a couple sherlockians would prove you wrong. Are you sure it is okay us going away now? While this is going on.”

“It will be fine! We are only going for a couple of nights. We will be back in time to watch the next episode and here for the reaction.” Ben explains, Tom nods and shuts his laptop lid. He shoves it into this backpack and strolls out of his apartment with Ben following.

Heathrow Airport, London

Many people are bustling in and out of the airport at record speed, it is the busiest airport in the country and the largest with three runways. The first thing that Ben and Tom notice when they enter the airport is Steph leaning against a post eyeing the terminal. They approach her, cautiously aware of both the time and fans. “Steph?”

“Oh my god! Ben, Tom, how are you?!” She almost shrieks as she hasn’t seen the pair in a while. She hugs them both and notes the suitcase in Benedict’s hand. “Where are you two off to then?” She asks.

“We are good thanks.” Ben chuckles, “We are going to Paris a couple of nights. It was Tom’s christmas present. So how are-” He is interrupted by the sound of someone running up to them. He turns to see Meg galloping through the terminal with a bag on her back. “Meg!”

“How are you Meg?” Tom asks after kissing her cheek, this makes her blush pretty bad.

“I am great! I have job here and Steph is letting me stay with her. Also this way I can watch Sherlock before the people at home.” She grins and Ben chortles coyly.

“What’s the job? You are going to enjoy the first episode it was incredible possibly my favourite episode to date, luckily we are going to be back in time for episode two.” Tom replies.

“I am working on the extras for a film called Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. It has been really hard not to read up on spoilers of last night episode.” She giggles.

“Well congratulations! We’d better run, we still have security and fans to get through.” Both of the girls nod in agreement and say goodbye as the actors stroll away.

After getting through all of security and a couple of fans, Tom and Ben are just waiting to be called for their flight. Ben decided not to go first class because of the short flight but they are still going business class so they won’t be interrupted by fans as much. They are looking around the shops at the airport when they reach the perfume shop which was filled with a lot of girls but they do not notice them, which is rare. Tom sniffs a cologne he has in his hand and grins, “What do you think darling?” He signals to Ben. The word ‘darling’ causes a couple of girls ears to prick up and notice the pair. Ben inhales the smell and smiles.

“It would smell perfect on you.” He kisses his cheek, not thinking about the fangirls who were taking pictures behind on their phones and probably uploading them straight to the social networking sites. “Let me buy it for you. It’s my treat.” Tom nods and they buy the cologne, which wasn’t cheap and wander out of shop to be ambushed by a group of fans. The pair looks at each other and sigh before turning back to the fans and begin to start signing stuff and taking photos.

Tom's phone chimes and he pulls it out to see some pictures that his sister has sent him of him and Ben in the perfume shop just now. The text following reads, now the whole world knows where you are so get on that plane now! Em x, he shows the text to Ben and they leave the fans to go and enquire about when they can get on the plane.
