Saturday 26th April – Spielberg’s Office

Steven Spielberg is preparing for the meeting with Benedict and Tom. Benedict is already here sitting in his office opposite Spielberg. Tom is late, again. Steven’s secretary walks in with a tray consisting of biscuits, one coffee and two teas. She places the tray onto the coffee table and leaves without saying a word. ‘Professional’ Benedict thinks as she leaves. “I gather you wanted tea Benedict.” Benedict nods, turning his attention back to Steven. “I also got Tom tea. You British love your tea!”

“You Americans turn it into ice tea which completely misses the point of tea.” Benedict raises his eyebrow at Steven and they both laugh. “I don’t know what has got into Tom lately. He is not usually late for anything. It is usually quite the opposite.”

In the car

Tom is sat on the back seat twiddling his thumbs. Mark, his driver, notices this by looking in the mirror. “You okay sir?”

“What? Ummm…yes thanks Mark. Sorry for being so late down, I was very conscience this morning about how I looked. God knows why!” Tom drags his fingers through his hair.

“Well you look very polished sir. It must be an honour working for Mr Spielberg.” Tom looks back down at his thumbs. He knows that isn’t the reason but agrees anyway.

Spielberg’s Office

Steven and Benedict have been talking quite thoroughly about the film whilst waiting for Tom to make an appearance. Benedict is now on his second cup of tea and Steven his second coffee. “Sorry I am late!” Tom says bursting through the door. Steven signals him to take a seat, so Tom sits. His body language is different than usual. He usually has quite a relaxed, open way of sitting but now he is all scrunched up and closed. Benedict smiles at Tom which reassures him a little. ‘I wonder why he is so tense.’ Benedict thinks as the meeting continues.

“…so filming begins on Monday. Tomorrow you can do what you want. Any questions?” Spielberg asks at the end of the briefing.

Tom nods, “Sorry I didn’t catch what time we had to be in the make-up trailer.”

“Eight o’clock you should be in your trailer to get dressed etcetera and filming will begin at nine. Every day we will be filming a different scene because there are four flash back scenes.” Tom nods again at this answer. “Any other questions?”

“Yes, Tom do you want to hang out tomorrow?” Benedict turns to Tom. Tom nods silently.

Sunday 27th April – Steph’s Hotel Room

Steph is combing through her bag looking for her Sherlock DVDs. Meg has agreed to join her in watching a few episodes seeing it is the last day before filming begins. Steph finds the DVDs and says, “Right then, the Reichenbach Fall me thinks.” Meg nods at this as she slips the disc into the player.

They were towards the end of the episode where Moriarty had just “killed himself” on the roof. Steph is shouting at the TV “Don’t jump Sherlock! Think about what will happen to John!” There is a knock at the door and because Steph is too animated she doesn’t notice so Meg getting off the bed to answer the door. She opens the door; Steph is still shouting at the TV, it is Benedict. ‘Awkward’ Meg thinks as Benedict walks in. “SHERLOCK!!!” John shouts from the TV this makes Meg smirk because Steph hasn’t realised Benedict was in the room yet. Benedict doesn’t even know Steph is a sherlockian, he does now.

“You know Martin was actually upset after filming this.” Benedict states, this makes Steph jump and she fumbles for the TV remote to pause the DVD.
