**3rd POV**

☁️

Delphie ran out feeling conflicted, she wants to honor her mother by following her last request, but those monsters were unacceptable. It was easy to let her anger go when she was away from them, but talking to them up close and personal was too much. They were soulless, cruel, maybe they looked nice on the outside, but their souls were twisted. At least that's what Delphie wanted to believe. It was easier to think them of as sadistic monsters than thinking that her parents may have actually been the antagonists in the situation. However, Carlisle did seem apologetic, or at the very least, sincere.

It also didn't help that Delphie pretty much just met her soul mate. Life was just unexpectedly tough and confusing right now.

Suddenly, all at once, Delphie was surrounded by the Volturi, Aro smirked. "You'll be coming with us".

Delphine looked around and got nervous, she had never actually been in a fight before, nonetheless, a gang of highly trained vampires. A rustle of leaves took everyone's attention from her, and she took the chance to run. A chase begins, and she jumps over a river crossing into an unknown area with unknown dangers.

At first, there were 10 of them, but one by one they got picked off until the guard and Aro remained. Aro held his hand up, "My brothers and sister, we have crossed onto the wolves' territory." It was then that a large pack of wolves came out in a threatening stance. She didn't understand why the Volturi would be afraid of simple wolves. The Volturi Guard fleeted, leaving the wolves and Delphine alone.

Delphie saw the wolves slowly back up into the bushes except for one sandy brown wolf. He actually began to approach her. Delphine scurried back until her back hit a wall defenseless, she closed her eyes and a tear leaked out as she hugged her knees. Then, the growling stopped, Delphie looked up and saw it standing in front of her.

The sandy brown wolf turned toward Delphine and she shied away. It began to whimper and kneeled down onto her lap. She looked into its eyes and realized those eyes looked familiar. She began to smile and pet him, "Aww! Aren't you adorable!" She started.

While this was happening, the pack of wolves shifted into their true human forms and were dying with laughter when they saw the scene. They had only briefly met the day before and she was already giving him head scratches and tummy rubs. Eventually, Delphie had to leave and find a place to bunk for the night. She was led out to a nearby road by that friendly wolf and wandered the streets looking for an empty lot or a highway until she was pulled over by a cop.

"Hey kid, where are you going, are you alone?" Asked the cop when he rolled down the window. The girl just shrugged her shoulders, "I'm just looking for a place to sleep." The man sighed and scratched his head, "hey kid, how about you just stay at my house. Then in the morning, I'll take you to where you need to go."

Delphine chuckled, "I know how you guys work, you lead girls into your car and they disappear, I think I'll pass." The man chuckled as well, "Yea stranger danger, I get it. But I had a daughter around your age and if I was your parent, I wouldn't want you wandering the streets at this time," he rolled up his window slowly until Delphie stopped him. She climbed into the cruiser as the man smiled, "I'm the chief of police, Charlie Swan, what's your name?"

Charlie faltered as he took in her appearance, matching the Cullens' description of the child their looking for.

The conversation ended there leaving a peaceful silence until they pulled up to a nice looking house. There she met a tanned woman with a warm aura, she gave Delphine a great hug, reminding her of her mother. She soon learned that the woman was named Sue and is engaged to Charlie. A familiar-looking boy walked down the stairs gathering her attention.

He smiled at me, a blush painted his cheeks as Delphine also began to blush. "Hi" was all he said to her. "Hi" Delphine breathed back at him, "Hi" he repeated. Awkward tension filled the room until Charlie cleared his throat, "Delphie, this is Seth, my stepson, Seth this is Delphine." Seth. She breathed in her head, it sounded perfect to her.

He turned to Seth, "How about you lead Delphine, here to the guest room." Seth nodded and left, giving him and Sue the chance to talk.
"Look, Sue, I saw her on the road, she's just a kid—"

"Charlie, it's fine, I know she's just a kid, it was nice of you to bring her in like that. Just be careful who you bring in, if the Cullens are looking for her it might not be for good reason." Sue explains rubbing his arm to comfort him.

Seth POV

When Charlie called me down and I saw her I could not stop blushing. What surprised me was that she began to blush, too. I soon learned the name of my imprint, Delphine, when I learned that, I shivered slightly. I was walking her down to the guest room when she stopped me, "I know you want to ask me something, so spit it out."

I struggled to get words out, "Um—so why were you at the Cullens?" I said trying to make conversation.
She suddenly became quiet, "None of your business," she said and closed the door. After she left I ran outside and quickly took off my clothes and shifted.

Charlie's POV

After my chat with Sue, I decided I should call Bella and find out why she and the rest of the Cullen's are looking for her.

B: Hey Charlie I—

C: Why are you and the Cullen's looking for that girl, Bella? And I want the real reason this time.

B: Look, Charlie, her parents had a bad past with the Cullen's and now that they're dead, they want to try to make it right with her. We just want to talk, how about we go over to the house tomorrow? Just three of us.

C: Do you even know her name

B: No but we want to know

C: Her name is Delphine... *sigh* Ok Bells

B: Thank you, Charlie,

3rd POV

Back at the Cullen house, Bella was telling them how the red-headed child was found by Charlie and temporarily living with him.

Rosalie stepped forward, "Do you think she's like her parents?"

"I think she's hurt and upset, rightfully so, we destroyed her family," Esme sympathized.

"We have to try to make this right" Carlisle expressed.
