I woke from my sleep with a groan, the alarm clock having awakened me from a wonderful dream. My dream was of Michael, the guy I've had a crush on since I moved here freshman year. Of course, I've never had the courage to actually speak to him... and, I'm still not even sure if he likes girls. So, yeah, I'm not gonna set myself up for that failure. Still, I couldn't get the stoner out of my head.

I pout as I turn my alarm off, grumbling to myself as I slowly pushed my covered off of me. " Great, you just interrupted the only time I'm ever going to get to be with Michael, assbutt." I say, glaring at my alarm. I quickly jump up, dreading school but excited for the opportunity to see Michael.

I quickly get into the shower and bathe before drying my (h/c) hair and brushing my teeth. I then throw on a pair of skinny jeans and a cute t-shirt that has a picture of a kitten surrounded by books on it. After that, I throw on a minimal amount of makeup before grabbing my backpack and heading to the kitchen. I grab a protein bar and a bottle of water as my older, dickhead of a brother, rushed out the front door. I quickly chase after him and get into the passenger seat as he jumps into the drivers side.

My brother, being a dick, was one of the popular kids. Everyone adored him, and he was a giant dick to anyone that he deemed unpopular. Which included me, though he was also a bit over protective. Meanwhile, I was just... Well, me. I was a nerd, top of my class, and didn't fit into the popular class at all. I liked books, they liked drugs. I liked common sense, they liked being idiots. It was just a mutual lack of similar interests that I had learned to live with.

My brother glared over at me as I quickly ate my protein bar. " (Y/N), I'm chilling with Rich and Jake after school, so you'll have to find a ride home." He said, his voice taking on a matter-of-fact tone. I frown at him, swallowing the last bite of my protein bar. " But-" I started to say, but quickly stopped myself. Going against his word was pointless- he wouldn't change his mind. " Alright..." I sigh, plugging in my headphones and listening to my music. My brother and I staid silent for the rest of the ride.

Once we got to the school, I quickly jumped out of his car. " See ya, (Y/N), and try to not be such a nerd this semester!" My brother smirked at me before he took off to meet up with Rich and Jake. " There is nothing wrong with being a nerd..." I mumble to myself, looking around as I made my way towards the school. I quickly bit down on my bottom lip as my eyes locked on Michael. He was with his best and only friend, Jeremy. The two were always together, which was why I wasn't sure if Michael was into my gender. I had learned to assume guys like guys, unless proven otherwise.

I tense up as Michael's brown eyes suddenly flicker up and meet mine, only to make me realize I had been staring at him. I blush, quickly looking away and hurrying into the school to catch up with my group of friends.  I was a nerd, yes, but my friend group was a bit more... well, there was a variety. Band nerds, drama nerds, book nerds, none nerds, we had a little bit of everything. Skye was the most popular in our group, and was one of my closest friends. Remember how I said I learned to assume they liked guys, unless proven otherwise? Yeah, I learned that from Skye, he had sternly told me that a long time ago. When I still thought he was straight, and when he was still in the closet.

Skye was the first one I saw, as he tends to stand out. Tall, lean build, with brown hair with strawberry red streaks and greenish-brownish eyes. He was attractive, and honestly I had learned to enjoy watching the life leave girl's eyes as he explained he didn't play on their field. " (Y/N)!" He called out, waving me over. I smile and quickly make my way to him. " Skye! I had the most amazing dream last night!" I say excitedly. He smirked at me, knowingly. " Let me guess... It was about Michael, wasn't it? Did it get to 50 shades of Michael?" He grinned at me, causing me to go beat red. "Not that type of dream!" I say, a bit too loudly, which caused people to look over at me. Skye laughed at my reaction. Unlike me, who has never actually been with a guy, Skye was a bit of... Well, he calls himself the Queen Whore for a reason. So he often enjoyed scaring my innocent self.

" But it was about Michael, wasn't it?"
His words had me quickly looking around, making sure the topic of our conversation wasn't in earshot. Seeing he had his headphones in anyways, I nod my head as I look at Skye. " Yeah... it was about Michael... and you know you're the only one who knows, so you could be a little more discreet about it." I frown up at him, causing him to roll his eyes at me. " Please, (Y/N), everyone in our group knows. We can see the way you look at him. Why don't you just go up and talk to him?"

" Because! I am way too cowardly.. Besides, I don't even know if he plays on my field... and if he does, I doubt I'm his type. I mean, look at me!" I sigh, leaning against my locker. Skye quickly glared at me, before taking a step back and looking me over. " One, if you don't talk to him, then I will. I need a new boy toy, and he's cute. "
I quickly pout at his words, which makes him laugh at me. " I'm joking! I wouldn't do that to you. Anyways, stop doubting yourself so much! You're hot, you just need to find your confidence. You don't look like a nerd, you just are one."

" Thanks" I respond, rolling my eyes as I got my books for my next class. Skye sighed, looking at me. " Look, you need to either get over him, or finally go talk to him. You do it by the end of the day, or I'm dragging your ass over there. " My eyes went wide at his words, and I quickly began to back away from him. " You wouldn't.."

" You and I both know I will, try to talk to him at lunch. Got it?"
" NO...."
" (Y/N)... Lunch. Talk to him. Today. " Skye said, daring me to disobey him. I slowly nod my head, unable to say no to the strict look he was giving me. After that, Skye quickly turned on his heel and headed towards his class. I frown, taking a deep breath as I head to mine.

A few classes later, and it was finally lunch time. The time I had been dreading, as I still hadn't gotten the nerve to go up and talk to him yet. My eyes continued to flicker over to him, sitting with Jeremy, the two were laughing and talking though Michael had his usual headphones around his neck. I sigh, grabbing my lunch tray and heading towards the table with my friends. I sat down beside Christine, who was currently rambling on about the play sign ups being soon. I smile at her passion, and she quickly nudges me in the side. " You're joining again this year, right? You did so great and we had so much fun!" She said excitedly, I nodded my head, reassuring her. " Of course! You know I love drama!"

" And music, books, animals, English, and Mi-" I quickly throw my hand over Skye's mouth, who had just taken a seat beside me and was rambling off stuff. I glare at him in warning, and he glares at me before looking over to Michael. I bite my bottom lip, looking over at Kila, the biggest band nerd of the group. " We already know, we're not stupid. Just go talk to him." My brunette friend said, causing me to blush deeply. " I can't just go up and talk to him, okay! You guys know how awkward I am! I might scare him away.." I frown, sighing as I poke my inedible food with my fork. " (Y/N), he's not exactly popular either. He's a geek, you're a nerd. It is a perfect match!" Kila grinned at me, trying to reassure me. I frown, chewing my bottom lip again. " It's not just that.. I'm a nerd... and I have a dick head of a brother who bullies him and Jeremy, and threatens to beat up any male who breaths in my direction- besides Skye, of course." I say, sighing. " I really like him, but I'm just not bra-SKYE! STOP!" I suddenly yelled, my eyes going wide as Skye got up and began to make his way towards Michael, my hair in his hand as he dragged me along.
