Emberly's POV

"Stop! Alex get off him!" I stumbled down the stairs, almost falling on my face. I pushed him off my brother, Alex still throwing punches like a mad man. His face red. I pulled on his shirt and he backed away, I couldn't look at him.

"Get out." I told him, at this point I felt like I could kill him, he looked at me with pleading eyes.

"Get out!" I yelled at him, shuving him out the door I slammed it in his face, going to grab an ice pack from the freezer quickly.

I looked at my brother who had a bruised face and a black eye starting to form. He sat up and took the ice pack from me, putting it to his face. I looked at him, I could feel bile rising in my throat, I hated seeing him hurt. In any shape or form, his face was to dull and filled with pain. The last time he looked like this was when he got into a fight with my father.

Someone knocked on the door, I went over and looked through the window, of course it was Alex. We made eye contact for a moment before I shut the curtain and locked the door. I couldn't stand to look at his face after that.

Cole had moved himself onto the couch, staring at the floor. Disappointment in his eyes. It wasn't like him to lose something like that, let alone I didn't even know what it was about. I sat down beside him, swallowing the bile rising in my throat. I blinked a couple of times before opening my mouth.

"What was that about?" I asked him, my voice hardly anymore than a whisper. He looked over at me.

"Something about proving himself, I couldn't make out the words he mumbled." He said, I could tell it had hurt, his ruff voice and the face he made looked confused.

" Are you ok?" I asked, we sat in the quiet for a moment. We could hear urgent knocking on the door but both ignored it. He nodded slowly and gave a small painful smile before walking up the stairs and to his room.

I walked over to the door quickly and stepped out, slamming the door behind me I looked at Alex. He opened his big mouth and before he could say anything I interuppted.

" What the fuck is wrong with you! Proving yourself?! All you proved is how big of a jerk you are, beating my brother!" I pushed him, using all forces I could gather and he stumbled back. Than I started again.

"I can't believe how pathetic you are! You're just a fucking loser, who can't keep a girl. A fuck boy!" I turned around before he could say anything and slammed the door.

I wanted to scream at him from the top of my lungs but I knew I shouldn't, instead I just took a pillow and screamed into it. All I wanted to do looking at his face was kick him in the balls. Hard. Maybe that would teach him for hurting my brother. I slumped down on the couch and huffed, wiping my lips again, I didn't want a trace of him on me. What a loser.

I was already rushed out of the door, late for school as always. I had a big, baggy sweater and a pair of tights, my hair in a messy bun. I didn't really care about school, I just needed to survive it and pass. Amy and I had established a meeting place by the doors, it had almost been a well since we met. She had frown on me. I walked over to her and she frowned, which wasn't like her.

"What happened to your brother? His face is all ..." Amy stopped and looked at me, than to my brother.

"Alex happened." I replied, my tone filled with aggresinon. The guys Alex was hanging out with was looking at me and Amy, slowly walking towards us, a small part of me was scared of them.
