The Betas at Redwood Pack has the same respect like Alphas. Every rank is respected, even the Omegas. What will be the point of having everyone's dedication and loyalty if you will not treat them equally?Beth noticed that Iris and Ivy had their heads down too. "That's weird, are you okay?" She crouched down and rubbed the head of the two huskies.
"Jane," Miguel started. "Who is your little friend?"
"Beta Miguel, this is—wait," Jane closed her eyes shortly and faced Beth, "I forgot to ask your name." She laughed.
"I'm Bethany. It's nice to meet you, um...Beta Miguel?" That's an odd first name, Beth thought.
Beth offered her hand and Miguel shook it but noticed the claw marks on her arm and he couldn't stop looking at it. One time, when he was younger, he overheard the Luna apologizing at his son and he was just looking down.
That's impossible, Miguel thought. A werewolf can detect his mate when they turn sixteen. His friend and Alpha know that finding his mate the day he turned a wolf was a bit...odd.
"Please," Miguel said as he continued to stare. "Just call me Miguel."
Beth pulled her hand back. Regretting that she should have worn a jacket or something long to cover her arm. She hated it when people stared. She hated it more when some tend to jump to conclusion that it was her dogs.
"Forgive me for staring. I didn't mean to." Miguel apologized.
"It's fine. Don't worry." Beth smiled.
"So, where are you staying at? Are you checked in at Come Inn?" Miguel started to change the topic.
Come Inn is a human-friendly inn at Dalles. The place was made and owned by the previous Luna who adored humans and since she found out about travelers, she thought about having them a place to stay for the night, and it was also made so that no one would suspect that their town was full of wolves.
"She's staying at Kate's." Jane answered for her.
Miguel raised an eyebrow at her and nodded. "Ah, the one living at the end of the town. Don't wander around too much, Bethany. You don't know what lurks around the forest."
It's a fair warning for Beth, after all, wandering around too much resulted something she tried shake off.
"Oh," Beth smiled. "Don't worry about me, I'll be okay."
"You have lovely siblings by the way," Miguel smiled and patted Iris' head.
"Um what? They're my pets," Bethany laughed.
"Oh. Oh, I did not notice the leash." Miguel laughed nervously. Well that was embarrassing.
"So, Miguel, where were you headed?" Jane chimed in.
"I was going to meet—"
"Ohmygod! Is that real?!" Beth's eyes widened and tightened her grip at the leash of the two dogs. "Holy shit, he's huge!"
