Chapter 8- Falling Apart

Bella's P.O.V

"What are you?"

He hesitated. Then he stared at me, analyzing my face for what seemed like forever. I sighed.

He arched an eyebrow. "Getting impatient?"

I rolled my eyes and nodded.

He shot me a crooked smile that I'm ashamed to say it dazzled me. God, he's so hot.

"So?" I asked sharply. "What are you?"

"Not like you," he said quietly. So quiet my ears strained to hear his statement.

"I noticed."

He didn't say anything more. I tapped my foot impatiently. We made a deal and he was backing off. I just wanted an answer for goodness sake's!

He looked up at me. Then he said "Can I trust you?"

I nodded immediately.

"I'm a-"

Our conversation was cut short by a phone call. He picked up his cellphone and looked at the caller. His face was surprised and concerned at the same time as he quickly answered the call. I tried to make out what the other person was saying on the other line, but I couldn't. I only heard bits of conversation from Edward's side.

"What?" He asked bewildered. "How did they know?"

He shook his head in disbelief.

"Okay, I'm going now Alice. Don't warn everyone else, u should be able to get this done quickly."

The caller rambled on and it seemed he- or she- was doubting Edward.

"I don't care who they are Alice! We didn't do anything wrong!"

So he was talking to his sister...

"I know they could, but I won't let that happen."

"Okay, bye."

He hung up and looked fearfully at me.

"Get your things, we have to go. Quickly." He stated.

I didn't move. "Where are we going?" I asked calmly. I was surprised I looked so cool because I felt as if I going to burst.

"Go get your things Bella. Now." He repeated sharply.

"No!" I shouted. I resisted the urge to stomp my feet like a 5 year old. "Tell me where we're going."

"I'll tell you in the car," he said getting angrier. "Now go get your things!" He was practically hissing.

"Tell me now!"

"No!"

Things were getting out of hand. Both of us were panting, our eyes wild.

Finally, he took a deep breath and said "We have to get far away from here Bella, but I can't tell you why. It would only get us in more trouble." The last part he seemed to say more to himself than to me.

I nodded and walked to my room to get my things. Edward did have to help though, since there wasn't much I could do with an arm in a cast. After we had everything packed in a duffel bag he gave to me, he got my bag and loaded them in the boat. He helped me on the boat and I sat next to him the whole ride. Then, we had a taxi ride us to the airport. My eyes were drooping and my body craved some sleep. Finally, I fell asleep on Edward's shoulder, and he put an arm around me and pulling me closer as I drifted into unconsciousness.

"Bella. Bella, were here. You have to wake up sweetie." I heard someone whisper in my ear. I opened my eyes and met his bright golden ones staring back at me.
