The auburn eyed turtle glared angrily as he stormed through the woods, it was slightly chilly, but he didn't care, the cool air was refreshing, and soothing to his burned shoulders and shell.

He stopped in a small clearing and looked to the sky, the nearly full moon was at its peak. And cast a silver light on the terrapin, making his scales glow a soft sea foam green and his auburn eyes glow like fire.

"Midnight... great..." He huffed softly.

A familiar howl rang through the air, it was loud, and it sounded... happy, almost... excited. It's origin came from a tall hill, covered in pine trees.

Donnie couldn't help but smile, he headed to the hill quickly. Ulric was at top of the hill in a clearing, sitting on a pile of boulders, staring up at the moon, a smile on his face, he seemed to be in a good mood.

Donatello suddenly hesitated. 'What if he wasn't welcomed in the wolf's woods? What if he was hungry... for turtle... AGAIN!?!' Donatello shuddered and kept walking up the hill. If he was going to get eaten... then well... he was going to DEAL with it.

Ulric's ears swiveled backward, as he heard Donnie approaching, he caught the familiar, welcomed scent, his tail began sweeping back and forth excitedly, as he turned to face the noise.

"Hey turtle! Watch'a doing in these woods?!"

Donnie smiled and quickened his pace until he stood next to the wolf. "Just getting some much-needed fresh air... plus... I needed to cool down." He smiled nervously.

Ulric raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What happened?"

Donatello explained. "We were..... introduced to your stories."

Ulric chuckled. "Quite a name I've made for myself, don't'cha think?"

"Yes. Yes you have." Donnie smiled. "Look um... Raphael... I'm not sure reading those stories calmed him at all... in fact, I think it made it worse, but uh... don't let that ruin your mood tonight... Please, he's not worth getting upset over." The auburn eyed turtle insisted.

Ulric nodded slowly. "That's true, he's barely worth my time... By the way... What's your name?" He stiffened, ears back as his senses pricked someone was coming.

The turtle frowned for a moment. "It's Donatello, but most people call me Donnie, or Don..." He tapped his chin, trying to remember if he'd told the wolf before or not.

Ulric grabbed Donnie's shoulders, not noticing the turtle winced in pain, then steered him towards a clump of bushes.

"That's a good solid name, but for now, would you do ME and YOU a favor, by going into these bushes, and not making a SINGLE sound, or even THINKING about moving? Cause THAT would be GREAT." He responded hurriedly.

Donatello was about to respond, but sensed how worried and panicked Ulric was and went into the bushes to hide, he went into full ninja stealth mode.

A couple minutes later a single purple and gold card fluttered around the wolf, soon followed by fifty others, the wolf didn't have to count, he knew there would never be a full deck.

Ulric looked around, straining to hear something.

"... Rascal? ... Where are you?"

The "Clown" was sitting at the edge of the hill, his back to the wolf. He hugged his knees to his chest and stared off into the dark woods.

Ulric walked over, and sat down next the Jester, and looked him concerned.

"Are you... alright?"

Rascal slowly shook his head. "It happened again... but... this time I dragged her out..." He quickly wiped tears from his face, as his voice cracked.

Ulric looked at his friend, sadness and understanding in his eyes, as he wrapped an arm around Rascal, in a sideways hug.

"I'm sorry... is there, anything you need?" Ulric asked sounding helpless as he tried to comfort his friend.

"I-I'm not sure any of you can help me... I asked Perrott if he found a way to get her back yet... But he said: "We have better things to do than worry about your past." He told me to stay focused on what truly matters... Our mission..." He sighed wistfully and sadly.

"Wow... That's, that's really harsh... Do you need me to eat somebody?" Ulric asked, feeling defensive for his friend.

"Well... He's right... My past is not important to our future..." He stood up. "Sorry for bothering you. I should... go now."

Ulric stood, and awkwardly patted his friend on the back, hoping that it passed off as comforting.

"I... I wish there was something I could do." Ulric hugged Rascal.

Rascal hugged him tightly. "There... is something."

Ulric raised an eyebrow. "What do you need me to do?"

"Don't leave me... please, I don't want to be alone anymore." He looked at his friend pleadingly.

Ulric smiled reassuringly. "I'll always be your friend. Us villains have gotta stick together."

Rascal smiled and hugged him tightly once more, then disappeared in a flutter of cards.

Ulric stared after his friend, long after he had left, deep in thought.

《~~~~~ A few moments later ~~~~~》

Donatello slowly stood. "Ulric? Wh-... Who was that?"

Ulric jumped at the sudden noise, his fur fluffing up and standing on end.

"Wha — who? ... oh, uhhh, erhm, Nobody.... jussst, ehhh... a friend of mine."

"Is he..... going to be okay? " Donnie asked hesitantly.

Ulric shrugged. "It's hard to tell with him, he's not one for giving straight answers."

"Oh..." he shifted. "I'm sorry if your mood is ruined."

Ulric shrugged again. "Eh, happy doesn't last long for my kind anyways... was there something you wanted to talk about? "

"I was... just wandering... then I heard you." Donnie studied the wolf. "But... I DO have a question."

Ulric picked up a rock hurling it into the woods, glancing it off of a tree, and deep into the woods. "Ask away."

"Do you... know where Mikey is? My little brother is missing."

Ulric stiffened, and ducked his head guiltily. "He's the orange one... right?"

Donnie nodded vigorously. "Yes, do you know where he is? Is he okay?"

"Well.... I uh, can't tell you EXACTLY where he is, but I DO know he's not suffering, in fact, right now he's kinda living his dream?" Ulric chuckled weakly.

Donnie frowned worriedly and felt his panic rise. "I-I-If you find out anything, let me know? " He looked at the predator hopefully.

Ulric looked away from Donnie feeling strangely guilty. He hardly knew this turtle, and definitely LOATHED his brother, so why did he feel so bad?

"Sure." He said awkwardly. "I... I gotta go. Lots to do tomorrow, spreading misery, gathering negative energy, painting futures black, watching Brooha blow something up, defeating the PreCure's, you know, the usual." He said taking a couple steps back.

Donnie sensed his uneasiness and nodded as he backed up. "Yeah. See you later." He smiled awkwardly, and headed down the hill.

Ulric sighed in relief, and phased back to Bad End.
