"Y-You love me?" I ask, wincing in pain. Sierra's hands were still gripping my arm, and the pain was still there.

"I have always loved you Em. You're my special someone. I'm sorry you had to find out this way," he says, walking over and pulling Sierra's hand away. She scoffs at us and flips her hair before strutting away.

"I love you Martinus," I answer, blushing a light shade of pink. He takes my hands and looks into my eyes.

"Will you be mine?" he asks. For a moment I feel as if time has stopped. There is only him and me right now. I stare into his beautiful chocolate brown eyes.

His eyes tell me a story. A story of a boy. He needed someone. That someone was a girl. He needed the feeling of loving someone. He came to his new school and met a girl. A girl who was broken inside. He didn't know it. He soon found out about her parents. He developed feelings. He liked her. More than a friend. He stood up for her but confessed his feeling in the process.

I realize that this story is about him and me. Us. His eyes search for an answer from me. They scan my face for something; they look for any clues. His eyes want me to say yes.

I smile shyly. He is after all the one who makes me feel safe.

"I'll be yours, Tinus," I respond. His eyes widen and he picks me up, spinning me around.

"Martinus! Let me down!" I exclaim, giggling.

"I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you," he breathes out.

"I love you too now let's go to class," I say. He giggles and takes my hand. Wow. Through the midst of my happiness, I forget why I want to leave this world. I guess he's the only one who is keeping me from leaving.

"Em. Can I ask you something?" he asks, his voice turning serious.

"Yeah," I reply.

"Why were you wincing in pain when Sierra grabbed your arm?" he asks as he stops walking to face me.

"Um..." I trail off. I can't tell him. But I guess I'm cornered. He's going to find out. He pulls my sleeve up and looks scared.

"Did you cut?" he asks, his voice cracking a bit. He sounds so worried like it was his fault.

"Yes..." I say, a tear falling down my cheek. He wipes it and pulls my sleeve down.

"Please don't hurt yourself. I love you. Please. I'm here. Come to me instead of hurting yourself okay?" he says, hugging me.

"Okay," I say. I can't tell if I'm lying. But maybe I am. I want to stop. But I know it will happen again. Just not anytime soon. I hope. I have to stay strong. For him.

"Let's get to class then," he says, smiling and taking my hand as Marcus catches up with us. We walk down the hall to our class.
