Chapter eight

I finally finish DADA after glaring at Moody the entire lesson. I walk down the corridor towards the great hall for dinner alone just humming a tune I smile to myself thinking about Ced. I hear running behind me and turn around and see Ced and his friends running towards me.He turns to his friends like he's going to walk away but one with brown hair takes him by the shoulders, turns him around and pushes him toward me . His friends pat his back and run ahead to the Great hall.

"Hey Athena," he says

"Hey?" I say well more like question.

"I....um.....well," he stutters

"Yes?"

"Wouldyougototheyuleballwithme," He says really fast and I just look at him like 'wtf'.

"Okay say that a again and this Time a little slower," I say.

"Would you go to the Yule Ball with me," He says nervously and I stare at him in shock. His face goes red.

"I knew I shouldn't have asked I'll just leave." He says and walks away.

I finally snap out of my shock and smile.

"Ced!" I shout.

"Yes," he say.

"I'd love to," I say and his smile matches mine.

"This is mad. At this rate we'll be the
only ones in our year without dates." Ron says. Snape walks past and slaps Ron over the head I put my hand up and me and Snape high-five. Snape is like a second father to me.

"Well, us and Neville!" Ron continues.

"But then again he can take himself." Harry says.

"It might interest you to know that Neville's already got someone." I say and Hermione nods as Ginny told us she is going with Neville. Ron gasps.

"Now I'm really depressed." Ron groans. Fred hands Ron a note, it reads "GET A MOVE ON OR ALL THE GOOD ONES WILL HAVE GONE!".

"Well Hermione, Athena you're girls."

"Oh well spotted." Hermione remarks sarcastically.

"Come on. It's one thing for a bloke
to show up alone. For girls it's just
sad."

"We won't be going alone because believe it or not someone asked us. And we said yes." I snap getting up and handing Snape my work angrily. I walk back over to Fred and George.

"See you later Freddy, Georgie," I say kissing each of their foreheads.

"Bloody hell." Ron says as me and Hermione storm off.

I look up from my book to see Ron is being helped into the room, he looks shaky. I set my book down and rush over.

"What happened to you?" Harry asks.

"He just asked Fleur Delacour out." Ginny says.

"What?" Hermione asks.

"Ron you Okay?" I ask waving my hand in his face.

"What did she say?" Harry asks.

"No of course." I say looking at him like he's stupid. Ron shakes his head.
