We continued to run from the herd of zombies, we didn't stop until we felt safe. I looked back to see only
a couple of them left and we slid under some stairs to catch our breath.
My mind was in pieces, still trying to process the thought of killing my best friend. We stayed there for a couple of minutes catching our breath and gathering our thoughts then we headed out.
As usual we snuck past as many of them as we could, killing some, running into some and sometimes distracting them so we could get through certain places. After a couple of minutes we finally got to the courtyard. Looking at it, it looks like there aren't as many there anymore.
We scanned the area looking for a path to the classroom.
"Over there." I pointed towards the fence but instead of being just the fence, there was someone in the distance in front of it, someone familiar. She had blonde hair just past her shoulders and looked small from where we were standing. She signaled us over, her many bracelets blinding us from the reflection of the sun,we followed in the direction of the familiar girl, killing few zombies on the way over. We followed her to behind the classroom, obstacles blocking our way. We climbed over logs, scurried through bushes and eventually got to the window of the room. The girl had already left, she must have climbed through the window already. The window was tilted open a bit leaving a small gap to fit through. Gabby went first, i linked my fingers together giving Gabby a boost up and she slid through. Now it was my turn.
I placed my hands onto the ledge of the window seal, getting ready to pull myself up. I made sure my grip was tight and with all my strength i pulled myself up. Suddenly the window started to shake and the SMACK! The window slammed onto my hands making me scream in agony. I tried to hold it in but it hurt to much. I look up to find everyone trying to pull the window up it wouldn't budge, my hands were trapped. I heard moans coming from around the other side of the building, getting louder every second they near.
My face is drenched in tears and i couldn't feel my hands, my fingers were cut off from the circulation. I turned my head to see zombies waddling towards me. I tried to pull my hands free but just like the window, they wouldn't budge. The pain was excruciating. The zombies were close, i could feel the tips of their fingers brush my shoulders, I kicked my leg back, pushing the zombies away. Each one stumbling over each other after kicking one away from me. Suddenly someone yelled "DUCK YOUR HEAD!". The window smashed and glass shattered everywhere, some fragment scratching my face and arms as they fell. The window pane could easily be lifted and finally, my hands were free. I looked down at them and they were covered purple, not a speck of my pale skin was to be seen.
Four people then jumped out of the window, killing as many zombies as they could. They backed me towards the open window and two of them linked their hands togther, providing me a way to get through the window, the other two fending the zombies away. Arms dangled down and i stepped onto the hands of the two providing them and the arms wrapped around my torso, hoisting me up into the room. I'm dragged through the window and onto the rough carpet lying flat on my face still recovering from the pain in my hands.
I rolled over and looked up at the ceiling. Looking over me were four faces, Gabby, Caitlin, Josh and Nesh. Caitlin was the one who led us over here.
I sat up, still holding my hands to my chest.
"Are you okay?" Caitlin asked, with an concered expression.
"Yeah, but my hands are killing me and I can hardly feel them." I reply slowly getting to my feet. Hands wrapped around my arms helping me up and i leant against a table.
Caitlin took my hands and wrapped them in a bandage. The room was equipped with stuff that could be used as weapons.
"Where did you get all this stuff?" I asked Caitlin, looking around the room.
"Connor, Ryan and Chloe went out to get all of it but when they came back they went for round two and well.." She mimicked a throat being cut, signalling that they died.
"Oh...."
"Yeah, they were great." Tears started welling up in her eyes "She was a great friend and now she's gone.." I remember how close Caitlin and Chloe were, they were basically liked twins, come to think of it they claimed to be twins, i know how i felt when I lost my friend.
I pulled her into a hug letting her sob into my shoulder. She sniffed, wipped away her tears and looked up at me "Im glad your okay." She took a deep breath and put on that bubbly smile she always had and skipped away, sorting through things on a table.
"Hows your hands?" Nesh asked examining my hands.
"Better a little, Caitlin bandaged them up." I tell her, smiling over at Cailtin who was talking to herself. "I heard what happened to Connor."
"Yeah, about that, i hope his okay, i really did like him." Nesh said, sitting on the table next to me.
"Oh we know!" I smirked and she hit my arm.
"Not that way!" Her cheeks burned bright red. I could tell that she liked him, she was basically obsessed, she loves being around him and wherever he goes she follows. We sat there in silence for a couple of minutes until Gabby called us over. We walked over to where Gabby, Josh and Caitlin were standing.
"We have a plan." Caitlin said, slamming her hand on the table "Sorry, I've allways wanted to do that." All of a sudden there was banging at the door and someone barges in...
"You miss me?"
"Oh God, not him!" Gabby and I said in sync.
