Flesh and Bones

Chapter 4

Not him, why did he have to be the one that walked through those doors. 

"Lucas your okay!" Nesh gasped, running towards Lucas for a hug

"Yeah! Of course I am!" He chuckled and hugged Nesh back.

Gabby and I rolled our eyes 

"Please let me patch you up, you look stuffed." Nesh said, pulling him by his wrist and placing him in a chair. 

She's in the middle of a love triangle i swear. First we thought it was just Connor but then I heard people say that she was starting to be around Lucas alot, then she started talking about him which got us thinking that she is in this massive love triangle between the three of them but who knows it could just be a phase and anyway, who has time for romance in a zombie invasion.

"Really? Nesh and him?" Josh said pointing between the two

"Yeah...we think shes in a massive love triangle between Connor, her and Lucas but now since Connors's gone i guess it is just her and Lucas." Gabby explained.

We stared at Lucas and Nesh for a couple of minutes then he made his way over.

"Why the fuck are you here?" Gabby said, running her eyes up and down Lucas.

"What ya didn't miss me?" He said with a chuckle

"Ha! Who would miss you?" Gabby laughed, she started laughing uncontrollably.

"Ah Gabby? Are you okay?" I said tapping her on the shoulder.

"Yeah. I just don't get who would miss him!" Gabby exclaimed in between breaths.

I looked over at Lucas and he had a look on his face that basically read What The Fuck? I agreed with him, sometimes I worry about Gabby and what goes through her mind. Anyway that doesnt matter right now, we have to get out of this school and find a safer place to bunk up. No one needs to worry about a freakin love triangle at the moment.

We head over to a table with a map and everyone gathers around.

"So from what i know we cant survive in this place forever so what im thinking is that we either stay here and make the occasional trips to the supermarkets to get food and more supplies or we can pack up our things and find a better place to bunk up in." I explained

"I say the second option about the new place and shit, ive had enough of this school." Gabby said

"Okay but first, does anyone know where the nearest supermarket is?" I asked hoping for the answer to be not to far from here.

"I think its about a 20 minute walk from here." Josh said pointing east.

"Okay, I suggest that a couple of us go out to the place to get some food and supplies, then after a bit we can find a safer place to stay. What do ya say?" I asked, looking from one person to another. They all agreed.

"Alright we head out tomorrow then." Everyone nodded and they got back to doing their own thing.

Night came and the room was getting dark, we didnt have much space to sleep so what we did was we stacked one table onto another and pushed them against the walls. We then gathered up all the cahirs and stacked them at the front of the classroom so that the whole room was a big open area. We then found our own space on the floor and tried to catch some z's. 

I was about to fall asleep until someone plopped down next to me. It was Gabby.

"You right there, i was about to get some sleep." I whispered rolling over to face her.

"I know, I'm sorry." She whispered, scooting around to get comfy.

"Well we made it through the first day." I said, putting my hand out for a high-five, instead i scrunch my hand up into a fist and we make our hands look like a snail.

"Snail." We said in sync letting out a quiet giggle. It was kind of this little thing we used to do and its stuck with us ever since.

"Well, I'm going to get some rest and you should to, we are going to need it." I told Gabby, rolling back over so my back was behind her.

"Okay goodnight." Gabby said

"Goodnight" i replied shutting my eyes.

"Hey Ben."

"Yes Gabby."

"Do you think we can survive?"

"Yes, if we try."
