When she was as close to being as ready as she'd get, Ashley hit publish.
Exhaling a breath she'd been holding in for far too long, she rested her head on the table. Spinach nuzzled her lovingly, and she spoke, barely audible through her thick hair in front of her face.
"I hope-"
She was stopped by a sudden alert on her email.
Worry lines slowly etching themselves across her face as she opened the blinking red icon.
"Dear A.B27," It began. A.B27 was Ashley's pen name.
"Your recently published piece has been taken down due to copyright laws. Please know that copyright is illegal, and a very serious crime.
The Wattpad team."
