Sitting on the plane I could feel the nerves of both Sebastian and myself radiating throughout the plane. I was nervous about going back to Utah and Sebastian was nervous about me being nervous which was making me even more nervous."It's going to be okay. I'm just gonna tell them how it isn't fair that just because we don't like each other that our kids have to be apart." I grabbed his hand hoping he would chill out.
He put his free hand on my belly and although it was awkward pose for him to do so. "I know but- MERDA!' He said as both of our eyes went wide. "Damn I mean crap! They kicked did you feel!?" he asked bouncing in his seat. I nodded putting my hand right next to his as the one of the babies kicked once again. Usually I was the one crying but I was way too excited about the newest development to do such a thing. After the second little flutter nothing else was felt and I quickly found myself drifting off to sleep.
"Are you sure you want to drive?" Sebastian asked as the rent a car person handed me the keys for our weekend ride.
"I'm positive, now get in. Grandma promised me gumbo and me and the things are starting to get hungry." I smiled as Sebastian groaned, even if nothing else went right on this trip, I could rely on my grandparent cooking to get me through, now to convince my grandfather to make me rib and I'd be happy for the rest of my pregnancy.
"My babies and my babies babies." My grandma screeched pulling Sebastian and I into a group hug as soon as the door opened. Full on hugging people was starting to become a little uncomfortable but I wouldn't deny my grandparent hugs.
"Hey sweet cakes." My grandpa hugged me kissing my temple, and doing the same to Sebastian.
Walking into the house I could smell the gumbo in the air and my just like clockwork my stomach growled.
"Sebastian! Have you not been feeding my granddaughter? Wait until I tell G this, she is gonna have your ass." My grandma chuckled guiding us into the kitchen .
"Now now, grandmother we both know that I stay feeding her." I blushed remembering the few times I had Sebastian call my grandmother to get certain recipes for foods of her I was craving.
"I know I was just pulling your leg, but you can follow all the recipes you want grandma cooking is the best. Boom baby!" She put a bowl in my hand and I did a little shimmy before taking a seat at the dining table everyone else following suit.
When I scooped that first spoonful in my mouth I was in heaven, If I could fill up a bathtub with my grandma's gumbo and bathe in it I would.
After dinner we spent a few hours talking to my grandparents about our birthing plan and other things, and we finally gave them the identical envelope we gave Sebastian's parents which contained the gender of the babies.
"So I don't care if y'all are married the only ones allowed to be fuckin' in my house is us." She pointed to my grandpa.
"Grandma-Monique!" My grandpa and I said in unison, and of course Sebastian just laughed.
"Don't grandma Monique me. Y'all aren't the ones that will be washing the sheets. Now are you sure you don't want us to go with you to see those demons I call a granddaughter and Angela."
The room quickly become a bit more somber with the news of the real reason I was here "I'm positive, the last thing I need is you trying to fight. Sebastian will be with me the whole time and I already promised that if he doesn't like the way things are going we will leave asap."
My grandpa sighed where my grandma was outgoing and boisterous my grandpa leaned more on the quiet side.
"All I'm sayin' is if you need me to pull up and beat a bitches ass I will."
