Every bone in my body cried out in pain as I tried to focus on the fox senses of my brain. I felt my bones slim the smallest bit, and it still caused unmatched pain. Breathing deep, I released my focus and aloud myself to relax.
"It is quite difficult for the smaller animals." Professor Sechuran had walked up to me in the corner of the classroom, "You need to slim down your bones and your body is not used to that, with more focus and practice, you'll get it." After Professor Sechuran had arrived and saved us from the jaws of Dire, the class relaxed, this class was all for Kemonomimi's and we were therefore able to take off our hats, the tails were a bit harder, so most were still adjusting to the switch, I stared across the vast room of different animals. There were dogs, cats, bunnies, wolves, cheetahs, tigers, deer, and one burly guy who was part black bear. The larger animals were having an easier time transforming than the smaller animals.
A small girl with big white bunny ears scampered over to me, looking in the other direction, once she stopped at the wall she turned to see me and yelped, her eyes darted straight to the floor, "I-I'm sorry for coming near you, please don't hurt me." She darted away on that note.
"What was that about?" I mumbled to myself.
"Class dismissed!" Dire screamed, making the prey jump out of their skin and the wolves (not the predators, just the wolves) laugh. We all hid our animal heritage and slipped out of class.
"It feels like I just fell off a five story building." Hoary moaned, stretching his arm.
"I know right? Honestly, I'm never gonna get the hang of this." Fen mumbled, "Speaking of which, Cori, how 'bout the beginning of class."
"Oh lord, don't talk about it. Please." I moaned, remembering Dire's attack, "My scalp still hurts from him grabbing my hair."
"You could've gotten seriously hurt, you've gotta start carrying something around with you for some sort of protection. Like an army knife or something." Hoary stated matter-of-factually.
"Maybe I'll pick one up when we grab our books, but just picture this, I have all my textbooks in my book bag, so I grab a textbook and whack those long fangs crooked!" I shouted, slamming my fist into my hand. I was boiling with hatred of this teacher.
"Cori! Shut up before someone hears you! Don't make them think you're crazy!" Fennec shouted, we were still on our way back to my and Fen's dorm and people were all around us.
"Oh! Good call, it's our first academic day after all, don't want to make a bad first impression!" I realized, I felt my face turn red with embarrassment. We neared our dorm and a piece of paper caught my eye. "What is that?" I asked, speeding up to get a look at it. Purple writing scribbled across the front.
GET OUT OF HERE FOX SCUM!
"One day and we already get one of these signs, hey Hoary, I wonder if there's one on our door." Darwin joked, obviously trying to lighten the subject.
"It was Eurasia! I know it! Her and Dire probably put it up there!" I immediately shouted, rage burning inside of me.
"Okay, now let's not jump to conclusions." Fennec said, raising her hands, she tore down the sign, "Though I can't guess how somebody knew about us, and this doesn't exactly seem coincidental."
"I know what I'm about to say is super generic but we can't really do much about it, I mean, think about it, we have no evidence, it's best to just forget about it." Hoary sighed, looking towards me for some sort of reaction, but I had steeled myself, Eurasia wasn't going to get away with this, but Hoary was right, there was nothing I could do.
