Soulmate

A person with whom you have an immediate connection the moment you meet — a connection so strong that you are drawn to them in a way you have never experienced before. Your soulmate understands and connects with you in every way and on every level, which brings a sense of peace, calmness and happiness when you are around them.

I rush out of bathroom after I instruct Bum to stay put and wait for me to come back. This wouldn't be long. I look around the hall for a familiar face. I had no idea who or where Yoon Jae was. I suppose I should've asked Bum to point him out for me but I prefer he didn't see Yoon Jae's consequences to bullying him.

Someone here ought to know.

"Hey, Sangwoo, where do you go, man? Everyone was looking for you." My friend, Hoseok, wraps his arm around my neck.

"Sorry, bro. Do you know who Yoon Jae is and where I can find him?" I pull away from Hoseok and he rubs the tip of his chin and stares to the blue side of the hall.

"Hmm, I don't recall if I ever knew someone by that name." Hoseok shrugs. "Why do you need to find this guy? You're not one to ask for favours."

"I'm not asking for any favours. I'm going to beat the shit out of him." I storm away to a group of kids near the end of the hall.

"Do any of you know who Yoon Jae is?" I interrupt their group discussion, not that whatever topic they were discussing was important.

When they all look at me one girl gasps my name and the other two girls stare in awe, the three guys stare in confusion. They were all short compared to me, they must be freshman.

"Well?" I scoff as they remain silent, furthering my frustration.

"I know Yoon Jae." A small voice comes from behind me. I turn and face a skinny boy that is nearly as tall as me.

"You do? Where is he?" I clench my fist in anticipation, I would kill that guy if I could.

"Yes. Jae-hyung wants you to meet him in the bathroom." I cringe when he refers to him in a formal matter, the jackass didn't deserve respect. Not after what he's done to Bum.

"Right now." The guy flusters and walks away.

I rush to the bathroom rolling my sleeves up.

It's been awhile since I fought someone. The adrenaline rush was making me giddy.

I sit on the toilet seat in a fetal position waiting patiently for Sangwoo to come back. I didn't think much about what he was going to do. I assume he is going to report him to the principal. I taste metal and look at my finger. I was so nervous I didn't realize I was biting my nails and made my thumb bleed. I start to suck my thumb and doze off.

The door creaks open and I nearly fall off the toilet. The footsteps were too light to be Sangwoo's so I remain still and quiet.

A minute passes and the guy hasn't made a single noise besides his unsteady breath. Listening to him really calmed me down so I didn't mind him being here.

The door then slams open. My head jerks up and I remove my thumb from my mouth.

"You wanted me?" It's Sangwoo! My face lights up.

"Yes, I do." My heart drops at the sound of the other guys haunting familiar voice. The guy I was listening to was Yoon Jae this whole time.

"Why would you humiliate someone like that? Do you understand what you did was wrong?" Sangwoo dictates sternly and remains composed. I was confused on what to do. I wanted to get out but I was too afraid to face Yoon Jae.
