"sorry i'm late", minghao said while he hugged the older.
jun had been waiting for minghao since he had some supplementary classes after school.
"it's okay", jun smiled after they pulled away. he stroked the younger's cheek ,"i'll walk you home".
jun clutched minghao's hand, intertwining their fingers as they left the school.
it seemed that jun forgot about the world whenever he was with minghao, even about his bet with soonyoung. all his thoughts disappeared.
"why didn't your sister send you school today, hm?", jun asked. he noticed that the younger had arrived to school today alone.
"she had to go to work early. she does all these research stuff in her lab cos she's a chemist. sometimes she comes home late but i'm fine with it", minghao shrugged.
they finally reached minghao's house. minghao stood on his doorstep, turning around to face his lover.
"see you tomorrow", minghao cooed, taking jun's face in his palms, softly squishing his cheeks.
jun pulled him into his arms, hugging the younger tight.
"no goodnight kiss?", jun pouted when they pulled away, his arms still wrapped around minghao's waist.
"it's only 6 in the evening", minghao laughed softly.
he suddenly felt his phone buzz in his pocket. he hastily took out his phone
"are you really choosing your phone over me", jun said, lifting minghao's chin up but he quickly looked down at his phone again.
a message from mingyu popped up on his phone screen.
his heart dropped instantly when he unlocked his phone and read the rest of his messages. minghao choked up.
he looked up at jun with glassy eyes. the older's expression immediately changed.
"minghao? are you okay? what happened?", jun asked, worry evident in his voice. he cupped the younger's cheek, softly stroking it with his thumb.
minghao suddenly dropped onto the ground, his phone slipping out of his hands.
all jun heard next was the cries and sobs of someone who was able to shatter his heart just by seeing him weak and hurt.
