Chp1 (The Start of The Perfect Summer)

Danielle's POV

I fixed my short dress while standing in front of my full length mirror. I twirled around and let out a relieved sigh as i saw everything was fine. My boyfrined, Carter, was leaving for a month long trip summer camp. He got a job as a camp counsellor and had to leave in one week and because the next few days would be filled with parties and other people, we decided to have a cute date

"Dani, the thing has arrived" my twin brother, Dean yelled from downstairs.

"let him in and be nice" i yelled back

i spritzed myself with perfume and grabbed my flats. As i left my room and descended down the stairs i could already hear my dad giving Carter the 'speech' for about the thousand time. I stood at the bottom of the steps, behind my dad with a grin on my face.

"She has dance practice in the morning. No later than 11:00, you understand son?"

"yes Mr. Dharmawan" Carter replied.

"And no underage drinking if you're heading to a party"

"uh-huh"

"And dont even bother bringing her to make out"

"oh Sam it's summer" my mom interjected

"okay bye mom bye dad" i yelled goodbye to dean and my youngest sister Christina and went out the door with Carter walk behind me

We sat at dinner table in some fancy restaurant, but.. it couldnt be more awkward. It consisted of me talking and Carter looking uncomfortable. Not all of our dates were like this, actually this was the only time something was wrong.

"Car are you okay?" i started to speak

"Dani we need to talk" i looking at him in confusion

"T-talk about what?

"us", "i met another girl. She's gonna be working with me this summer and i know cheating is wrong but.. Now i wont have to"

"you cheated on me?!" i stood up

"you're causing a scene,Dani! just sit down and we could talk about it"

"i never want you to call me again, you douche bag!"

I ran out the place with tears in my eyes i heard him calling after me, but i continued to run. Almost four blocks later, i reached my house. My tears didn't stop and they were only getting harder. I shoved open my front door and i tried to swallow my tears so my family wouldn't hear my cries but Dean and my dad were watching some recorded NASCAR races so they heard me.

"Dani what happened? my dad asked

"did that asshole do something to you? Dean clenched his fists and i could see his protective side coming out

"N-nothing happened. I-im just g-going to bed"

I dragged my body upstairs and i could hear them calling my name but i wasn't in the mood for an interrogation. I plopped down on my bed after closing my door lightly. Tears continued to cascade down my cheeks and my so s became more quiet. Isn't this the perfect way to begin my summer?
