[TW]Chapter 5: The Walls Are Listening

"Kas, what is she talking about?" Kassy stood there, not knowing what to say. She knew she was going to have to say something eventually but not like this. "Kyungsoon, she better be lying." Anger laced Leo's voice as everyone around them stayed quiet, watching the scene unfold. "Kyungsoon!" she jumped, tears welling up in her eyes.

If walls could talk, I'm sure they would be screaming

"I'm sorry, Taekwoon."

(A month earlier)

Taeyong helped Kassy back into the practice room and sat her down on the couch. "Are you okay?" Eight asked, brushing the younger's hair back. She nodded. "I think it was just nerves. I'll be okay." Yo Geon shook his head. "No, we're going to get you checked o-" "I said I'm fine." they went silent. "I'm just nervous for the results." she forced a smile. She's been throwing up all day without anyone knowing and was just as scared but her health wasn't important right now. Their debut was. 'I can figure out what's wrong later.' Sasha watched the younger, knowing this was more than nerves. "Can we just go home please?"

(Later that night)

The group gathered around the table, eating dinner silently. They were still on edge from the evaluation and Kassy's sudden sickness didn't make anything better. The latter had done nothing but pick at her food. Her appetite was there but she couldn't bring herself to eat again. A sudden buzz brought everyone out their trans-like states. "Excuse me, I have to take this." Yo Geon excused himself from the table. "I wonder who it is." Rae muttered. Yo Geon ran back into the kitchen, clutching his phone tightly. "We can start recording tomorrow."

The next day, the girls walked into the recording studio, bubbling with excitement. "I knew that we could do this. They were just testing us." Chika smiled as the producer had motioned them to sit. "Hello ladies, I am really excited to be working with you. This is the first time the company has come to me to work on a group's debut song. I hope I can live up to your expectations." She smiled before picking up the lyrics. "Now, I would like to get the raps out of the way, so Rae, can you get in the booth first?"

One by one, the girls went into the booth, perfecting their lines. "Kassy, you're up." the younger nodded, walking into the booth and putting the headphones on. "Normally, I would want mains to sing the chorus but I feel like it didn't so you justice." Kassy nodded and pushed a button to mute the producer's mic. "I guess someone wants to get to work." the music started and she quickly cleared her throat.

"Drunk by the captivating scent tonight,

I am excited by the thought of you tonight

I am lookin alright today,

I am anticipating something special might happen"

The music stopped. "Kassy, I need more feeling. You're expecting the man of your dreams to come and sweep you off your feet. You want it to happen. Make him know it. Right now, it sounds like you want him to go jump off a cliff." the producer started the music over again.

"Drunk by the cap-" "Stop. It's still not enough." the door to the booth opened. "Kyungsoon, are you okay?" she nodded. "Don't lie to me. I know something is wrong and I know that you can do much better than this." she lowered her head and Yo Geon sighed. He rested his hands on her shoulders before pulling her into a hug. "Whatever it is, please put it to the side for the moment and we'll talk over it when we're done, okay? You can do this."

But I can't...

The music started again and she rested a hand over her stomach. 'Get over it, Kyungsoon. Just sing the damn lines like she wants it.'
