Red Ferrari
“Bye people!” My voice echoes through the whole house, before I slam the door behind me.
I turn around to see a shining new red Ferrari right in front of my eyes. My mouth drops open, when I see Jesse poke his head out of the window.
“Do you like it?” he says with a smile.
“What do you mean, do I like it? I love it!” I shriek.
“Come on get in.” he laughs.
I run over to open the door, star struck by what it looks like on the inside too. Even the glistening, slightly tinted windows overwhelm me.
He starts driving.
“Jesse, this is amazing.”
“Thanks babe.”
“I mean, when you said you were getting your first car. I didn’t think a brand-spanking new Ferrari.”
“Well, now that my dad’s got a big promotion, he treated me.”
“He treated you well.”
“Anyway, how are you?” he says before kissing me on the cheek.
He makes me all sparkly inside.
“I’m great as always.”
I notice there’s a docking station, so I rustle through my bag to get my iPod. I connect it up and blast misery business through the car.
“That’s loud.” he says.
“What? I can’t hear you!”
I sing the chorus so loud my ears ring,
“Whoa, I never meant to brag,
But I got him where I want him now,
Whoa, it was never my intention to brag,
To steal it all away from you now,
But God does it feel so good,
‘Cause I got him where him where I want him now,
And if you could then you know you would,
‘Cause God it just feels so…
It just feels so good.”
I turn down the volume when Jesse laughs.
“You are so crazy.”
“I know, and that’s why you love me right.”
“Yepp.” he grins.
“I’m so excited. Are you?”
“Why would I be excited?”
“Because it’s our last week of school.”
His face turns serious. “About that.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Well, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about college.”
“I know, your going to college, you told me remember.”
“Not that, I’ve been offered a place at a really good college.”
“That’s great.”
“In London.”
My face turns into a horrified expresion and I nearly have a panic attack.
