Percy sighed as he looked out at Long Island Sound from his perch on the dock. He felt slightly guilty for Leo's death, but when Nico had said that he hadn't felt his presence in the underworld, it had given them hope, something he had a very rocky relationship with. He heard more than felt Annabeth come up behind him and sit down next to him.
"Hey, what's going on, Seaweed Brain? You haven't been like this for a while." She asked him.
"I don't know. I guess I just feel... guilty about Leo and everyone else, aside from Octavian, that died." He explained quietly, the water at his feet swirling slightly with his emotions.
"It's called 'survivor's guilt' for a reason, Perce. Even Clarisse is feeling slightly guilty, and you know how rare that is with her." Annabeth explained. "The last time was with Silena."
"I know, it's just... I kinds wanted to go through a year without any of my friends dying." Percy sighed sadly. "But I can say he went out the way he wanted- in style."
Annabeth laughed quietly. "That he did, Seaweed Brain. That he did."
They got up and she led him gently to the campfire, where the uninjured members of both Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood sat happily joking, waiting for the song-alongs and the s'mores. They all cheered when they saw Percy and, to his surprise, Clarissa came up to him and punched him gently on the shoulder.
"Don't leave without telling anyone again, Jackson. I need my little sparring partner. How else am I gonna stay number one around here?" She joked. Percy smiled and joined them, singing along happily about a grandma and armor, even getting Nico to sing along, thanks to Reyna and Hazel. But they didn't see the blonde archer watching them through the trees. He slowly pressed the comm in his ear and spake into it.
"Director Fury, we've found them. Coordinates are Montauk, Long Island, New York."
A deep voice answered him. "Good, agent Barton. Keep watching them. We may just need them for the New Avengers Initiative."
"Affirmative sir. I'll keep watch over them as long as they're here."
"Be sure you do, agent Barton. They've saved the world more than once, in a war mortals saw as the Battle of New York, and the natural catastrophes they caused in the last year. They could very well destroy the world before they save it." Fury responded. "Especially Mr. Jackson."
