Days passed.
She remained in her numb state.
Yesterday they had successfully removed the tumour.
But she remained numb.
She still lived with the fear,
That if her mother gave up,
Even now, it would be because of her.
She went and sat on the bed next to her mother.
She held her mother's hand.
She watched her mother's eyes,
They had some yellow liquid leaking from them.
She didn't cringe.
She realised-
The perfection or imperfection of things,
They didn't matter anymore.
She felt a tear slip down her cheek,
Yet she smiled, knowing that
She had finally overcome her biggest obligation.
Her mother's hand slightly squeezed her's.
She looked at her mother's face in surprise.
Her mother opened her eyes and smiled at her.
Looking at her mother, she finally realised what it meant-
To live in the moment.
She smiled back at her mother,
And somehow, that was everything.
