Pregnant with Niall's Baby

Chapter 13

Sarah's POV

Why can't I move? What's wrong with me? Where am I?

I tried opening my eyes but they stayed shut. I listened and heard a machine beeping around me. Am I in a hospital? No, this can't be, I'm not in a hospital, I'm perfectly okay, this is all just a dream.

I lay silently, when I hear a familiar little Irish accent.

"Will she be okay doctor? How are the babies?" Niall said.

"She should be okay, she has a broken arm and hand from the impact, but she may have lost some of her memory. We will have to see when she wakes up. I believe she will wake up within the next couple days."

I then felt Niall's hand intertwine with mine but for some reason I couldn't respond.

"I don't know if you can hear me babe, but we got in a car accident last night, it's now the new year, but we missed it because of the crash. I want you to know everything will be okay, the kids are still okay, and you have a broken arm and hand, but we will be okay. Please wake up soon, I love you so much Sarah, please wake up."

I wanted to just jump into Niall's arms again, and tell him I was okay, but my body just wouldn't move. Niall released my hand, and I heard his footsteps make their way towards the other side of the room.

So that's what happened? We were in a car crash? How did that happen? I thought we were home, how did we end up in the car? Where were we going? How long have I been pregnant for? Do I even know the gender of the baby? Will my arm heal by the time it's born?

All these thoughts kept running through my head. I tried so hard to move my hands towards my stomach so I could feel the baby, but my arm wouldn't move. I tried talking, but my mouth wouldn't open. I tried to open my eyes, but they just stayed closed. Why can't I do anything!

Niall's POV

I look over at Sarah in the hospital bed. She looks so beaten up, black and blue on her cheeks and legs, and her left arm covered in a cast. I watched as the doctor did another sonogram to ensure the babies would be okay. He put the machine to Sarah's stomach and I saw her hand move. I ran over to her side to see if I could get her to move her hand again, but nothing happened.

I wonder what memories she still has left. Will she even remember who I am?

The doctor assured me that the babies would be okay, and left the room leaving Sarah and I alone.

I sat down next to the hospital bed and held Sarah's hand again, and just sat there. Occasionally I would squeeze her hand to see if I could get a response, but nothing happened. I rubbed her stomach gently, and felt one of the babies kick and smiled to myself.

They're still okay.

I heard my phone go off in my pocket, so I got up from my seat and looked to see who was calling.

James' name flashed across the screen, and I hesitated in answering, and decided to get it over with.

J: So how are you feeling son? Not that great, right? I wouldn't think so. I'm lucky I could get in my car fast enough. Don't worry, I got my payback for now.

Before I could even answer, he hung up. I still can't figure out how he got in his car quick enough to find us and hit us without getting injured himself. That bastard won't get away with anything else. I will keep my eye on Sarah at all times and won't let her out of my sight.

I turned to look back at Sarah and saw her eyes open. I blinked a couple times to make sure I wasn't seeing things and ran over to her.

"Sarah babe, how do you feel? Do you need anything? Water? Food?" I rushed.

She lifted her hand slowly and pointed to her lips.

"A drink?" I questioned, but she shook her head no.

"Food?" I asked, but she shook her head no again.

Then I realized what she wanted, and leaned down, kissing her lips gently, and as I pulled away she smiled.

"I love you" was all I heard her say before I ran out to get one of the nurses.
