Chapter 5

Dereck's P.O.V

After I had dropped Lydiana off, I had quickly went home and went straight to my room. Before I even had the chance to get comfortable on my bed and play back what had happened today with Lydiana, Anastasia had came rushing in.

"Soooooooooo, how was it? The walk I mean with Lydiana?" She said with a teasing tone and a hint of curiosity. "You know, you could knock before coming into my room, what if I was naked?" I had said in annoyance. "Ugh it doesn't matter, I just want to know how you feel about Lydiana?"

I stared at my sister for a while and had then carried her and placed her out of my room. My annoyance level was growing each second she had been here. While kicking her out she was hitting me and struggling to quickly get released from my grasp. I walked to my door and swung it open. When I did this Anastasia had stopped moving and accepted that I was kicking her out.

"You know you're a real ass" she said while giving up on her persistence. I responded by giving her an evil grin and had released her and then closed the door.

When the little annoyance left I had quickly calmed down and was able to relax.

I went to my bed and laid down. The only thing that was on my mind was her.

Lydiana's scent was so amazing. She had smelled of vanilla mixed in with a hint of jasmine. When I had first met her today, it was almost unbearable. The first thing that had went into my mind was that I wanted to have a taste of her. However that wasn't the only thing that had been running through my mind. I knew that when I first made eye contact with her and had kissed her on her cheek, I had instantly knew that she was the one.

That she is the only one that can make me yearn for her. I desire her so badly. No one, in all my ages of living can ever amount for both the love and lust I have for her.

Thus can only mean one thing. I had realized that Lydiana was not just a person that I liked. She was so much more. Lydiana could only be one thing to me and one thing only.

She was my destined mate.

For a vampire, a destined mate is a person that has been connected by souls. However this was a real problem. Destined mates are only allowed between vampires. A vampire and a human, being a destined pair is considered to be treason. Us vampires have to keep our identities secret from humans. The law states that if a human comes to find out about our existence, The human will be killed and the vampire will have the biggest punishment of all. We will be executed in front of all vampire's. Not only is the execution bad but the headmasters take turns in inflicting abuse to the vampire.

Realizing that Lydiana was my destined pair and a human, had made me feel so bad. In my past years I had treated woman with disrespect because I was lost. I was tired of being a vampire. I took all of my anger out on them. I had taken advantage of there fondness towards me and had taken there blood, leaving them lifeless.

My mind had wondered and I had thought about Lydiana and if I were to have put her in that amount of pain. I had quickly gotten scared and I hated the thought of ever inflicting any hurt on her. I wanted to treasure her. I valued Lydiana so much.

I heard a Knock on my door and I knew immediately who it was. I walked to the door sort of sluggish. Anastasia came in and quickly gave me a hug.

I gave her a sad smile and said, " what are you doing here you little brat?" She responded " you know one of my abilities is being an empath" I gave her a sad smile again and had said, "I love her Ana, I love her so much".
