We got into her car. Her mom was driving of course. We were in the back, singing to the songs on the radio. A couple minutes later, we had arrived at the dance. I could see disco lights fron the windows. "See you girls at 9:30." Gabby's mom smiled. "Bye mom! Love you." Gabby said, quickly getting out. I followed her. "Love you too!" Her mom called. Gabby grabbed my arm, quickly pulling me in.

As soon as we went in, we saw it was packed. Like, we were practically smushed against other people. It felt so awkward. I spotted someone familiar. Could it be? I thought. He turned, and my assumptions were correct. Eli was here. Gabby must have saw him too, because she wrinkled her nose. "First time he wore something that wasn't completely trashy, but half trashy." I laughed, hitting her arm. "Quit it." She looked at me. "What? It's true." I rolled my eyes, smiling. Eli saw me, grinning and waving. I raised an eyebrow, pointing to myself as if saying Who, me? He nodded.

He started towards me. I blinked, surprised. "Hey." He said once he made it over. "Hey... why are you over here?" I asked. He shrugged. "I don't know. I don't see any of my other friends yet." I blinked, feeling weirded out. Why would he come over to me? I thought I was a rat. "Ohhh, but I thought I was a rat and smell bad?" I crossed my arms. He smiled. "Not anymore. You're beautiful." He winked. I felt my face grow red. Is he flirting with me?! "...Are you serious?" I asked in disbelief. "What?" He said, surprised.

"Oh, I was ugly before and smelled bad because I wasn't wearing 'popular' clothes, but now  that I actually look somewhat decent, I suddenly don't look ugly and smell bad? Are you serious?!?" I was going to lose my cool. His eyes widened. "W-what? No, I didn't mean it like that!" He stuttered. He actually stuttered.

I rolled my eyes, beginning to walk away before he grabbed my hand, pulling me towards him. "I didn't mean it like that." He said, more calmly. "Well, you still bullied me, and now your not. Like, what's with that??" I asked. He sighed. "Well, I was under the influence of Hailey. She was the most attractive, and popular girl in school, and when she asked me out I thought it was a dream come true. But, after a while, I realized what a huge bitch she was, and broke up with her."

"Oh..." I said, quietly. He smiled. "Yeah." I looked up at him. How his brown curls drifted onto his cheek. I held out a hand, brushing it away from his cheek, smiling. He raised an eyebrow. "Easy there, I just suffered a break-up. You're already making your move, already eh?" He laughed, teasing me. "I-I'm sorry-" I stuttered.

He smiled. "Relax, I'm teasing." He leaned in, slightly. His lips were inches away from mine, and I could see the green flecks in his blue eyes. He leaned in more until.........
