As I was wandering down the path, I couldn't get the man turning to stone out of my mind.

It's your fault.

My conscience mocks me.

He could have still been hovering around if you have been quicker! This is why your father doesn't want you.

"Stop." I whimper.

I clasp my hands over my ears, trying to block out the words. But it's no use.

My conscience throws insult after insult until they start to jumble up & echo in my head.

You're weak & pathetic.

"No." I softly cry out, tears escaping down my cheeks.

If only you were just better.

Two streams of salty tears run down my face silently, making my vision blurry. I continue trudging down the trail, tripping over my feet once in a while. I bump into a black rock & end up lying on the ground.

I quickly crawl away from it, fearing it might be another soul turned to stone. As I scurry away from it, it shakes awake and... growls?

I wipe my red puffy eyes, only to make them sting from my dirty hands. The large whatever pounces on me, a wet splash drips on my cheek.

Ew.

I slowly open my eyes and see 3 huge heads. All of them having humongous razor sharp teeth, the smallest of the pearly whites were as long as my whole arm. Drool drips from their curled lips, they growl sending small pants of stenching breaths to my face. The horrific smell makes me gag and my eyes water, the creature loudly barks, my ears pop like firecrackers.

My breath stops as I look up to see it's fury red eyes, nothing but a blazing fire raging on. Its' huge paws are on both sides of my shoulders, slowly squeezing me. My hands clutch the orange dirt beneath me, when I suddenly think of something.

I puff the orange dust into the beasts' eyes and he howls in agnoy. His feet stomp the ground and I stumbke to get up. When my jello weak legs don't work to my command I roll away just before I almost get trampled. I pant, and and kneel, my hands stained orange.

You must give an equal amount of cake to each head, fail to do so & you'll be dead.

I remember Pain's words. So this is the heads he was talking about. I quickly pull out the cloth and bring out the cakes. I only have 2, and my stomach drops.

What am I do to?

I bring out the jewled knife and cut the cakes as evenly as I can. The beast is has now stopped, it's red eyes rage toward me. I feel it's impeccable glare, its licks and burns my skin. Even if he canot touch me, his eyes give this pain of fury.

I rapidly grab the cut cakes in my hand and I stgger to get up. The red eyes hesitate after smelling and seeing the sweet dessert. It slowly came, his footstep inaudible. I stood still, not knowing what to do. I had my breathe scared to bring back his rage.

He stood right in front of me, his three heads slowly came to eye level. I flinch when the heads slowly lick the cakes away from my hands. I would think that they would ravish my hands or fight to get the most portion. For I was wrong, they were calm.

We both stare into each others eyes. His eyes weren't just blood red, they were a mixture of different hues of red, they swirl around the iris making my breathe hitch. They were beautiful. Eyes are windows to the soul and I see everything. He's not a monster, but rather a warrior. He has survived so much trickery and pain.

I whisper to him, " Γενναίος κηδεμόνα"

Brave Guardian.

After we had our moment, we some how ended up playing and goofing off. I was exhausted and he took me to his "home".

On top of the cave of where he stays in says "Cerbus" so I will imply that's his name.

The huge opening of the cave is rough with rocks. Inside the cave is pitch black, soft dark soil is underneath me.

I remove my sandals and rub my sore feet. I put down my bag of possessions beside the a funny looking rock. I take out of ribbon and pull my hair away from my face.

He lays down and I curl up to his warm furry chest. My eyelids droop and everything turns black.

I wake and I bid goodbye to new friend. I go through another short tunnel and finally reach the upper world.

A a soft glow hides underneath all the green stuff, called plants. Small flower like plants dot the ground, except it's brighter and more variety of color. There's pink, white, yellow, red and all types of colored flowers everywhere. I stand there my Jaw down to the floor.

I try to soak up the scene as much as I can and try to remember the vocabulary of the upper world. I take off my sandals and feel the mud squish beneath my toes. I let a happy squeal. Mud feels great, much better than the damp rocks I'm used to.

Everything has a dew on it. Small droplets are sprinkled on the grass. At home we didn't have grass, we only had a garden of Black lillies. I don't know what the other people outside the castle walls had. I always wondered if they were having fun, even if they were dead. I lay down and examine the strand of grass, it was so green, I feel it and it's so smooth. I touch it's top and it's pointy, I flop it around and admire how tall it stands, even if its the same size of my pinky.

I crawl to another plant, I kept looking at every single flower, they were vibrant and beautiful. I lay down on my back and sigh. Everything is so beautiful here in the upperworld. I stand and run across the field and touch the air between my fingers.

I have never felt so free.
