I hung my head as Pain and Panic dragged me to my father.

As we arrived, he was sitting in his massive throne, sipping on his tiny glass. He slurpped one of the green wiggling worms before he turned his gaze on me.

I felt like a 5 year old again, being scowled for eating too many cookies before dinner.

"Morganite" he said softly.

He was calm, too calm, but the water is always still before a storm.

"Father." I said as calmly as I could while looking at the wall right beside his head, I couldn't bare to look at him in the eye.

He got up & stared at me, my nerves were in knots, I felt bile rising up my throat but I forced it down.

He circled around me once, he did it with such grace it sent shivers down my spine, making the tiny hairs on my neck rise.

A long blue fingernail slid across the side of my jaw, he used two fingers to pinch my chin to make me face him.

"I think you're ready." he raised one of his eyebrows.

The one time he shows emotion, other than anger, towards me and I have to be in this state of mind. His pale blue eyes were so beautiful, like a sky with no clouds.

Meaning that he still doesn't know about me going into his secret office. My heart wouldn't stop beating wildly, I had to make sure that they were still there. I slowly skimmed my thighs with the tips of my fingers, just a minute quiver of the wrist.

Unfortunately, he caught that small movement, his eyes snapped to my thighs.

I froze.

I gulped the thick ball of dread down my throat.

"Ah, what do we have here?" he innocently asked. A cloud covered, once again, his pale blue eyes.

He snapped his fingers & the book from my right thigh floated under my toga and hovered 3 inches above his opened palm.

Oh.

No.

"Why do you have-," he read the title, " 'Secrets of A Garden' when I know specifically that this book is from MY library?"

"I-I want to fix our garden. It seems a little...dead." I feebly answered back, my mouth dry.

He smiled. A small smile, but a smile nether the less.

I saw him look at a lump of my left thigh, once again he snapped his fingers and the other book hovered near him.

" 'Secret Escapes From Hell' what's with all the secrets 'Ani'?" He mocked the nickname that Pain & Panic use.

"Answer me!" he yelled, I flinched.

"Are you trying to ESCAPE from ME!? You're the only thing I have from HER, & you're trying to ESCAPE!?" his voice raised to a pitch of hysteria.

What is he talking about?

Who's "Her"?

"Can't you see, you'll never escape, not without my permission, not without my saying!" He shrieked, his blue flamed hair burst into crimson tongues as he balled his fist.

"Hercules & now you, what is it with people trying to gang up on me, eh? If I don't kill him, my plans will be ruined & now you have to interfere!" He bellowed, turning angry red, you could see smoke swirls above his head from containing all his emotions.

"You're just like her," he snarled, "Is this some cruel joke I can't even look at you."

I felt my eyes water, my lower lip trembled.

I felt the big salty tears steeam down my face.

I was disappointment to him, I could never make him proud.

"I'll do anything to make you proud father," I whispered, "Just tell me what to do, I'll do it"

"You're too weak and pathetic to be any use for me. The only reason you're even here is because of her, other than that you would be anywhere except near me" He spit.

I choked on a sob, why is he so cruel? What did I ever do to hate me this much?

I started telling him the things I could do, when that didn't work desperation got the better of me, I blurted out, "I'll kill Hercules"

That got his attention. He ruefully chuckled., I repeated myself again.

"I'll kill Hercules, if it means for you to finally love me."

He smirked and shook his head low, "No, if I can't do it, you never will."

"Give me a chance father. " I told him then added. "You have nothing to lose."

He considered it a bit, I could practically see the gears turning inside his head, listing all the pro's and con's on this.

"You're right. I don't have anything to lose."

I felt my heart twinge.

"Here's the deal; You'll attend Prometheus Acadamy, the same school he goes to, kill him before the terminal bell is rung that announces Summer vacation and personally bring his soul to me."

"But you'll be proud of me, right? You won't hate me any longer if I do this." I asked him.

"Yada, Yada, Yeah whatever you say, sweetheart. I'll be proud & won't hate you if you do this." He agreed grudgingly.

I stretched my arm to shake hands, but he quickly mumbled, "Oh, almost forgot, if you don't complete the task you shall be forever imprisoned in your room."

Before I could even blink, he gripped my hand, shook it. That was the last thing I remembered before the white blinding light cacooned me.
