As a young girl, Kala always loved legends. Her personal favorite was The Wolf  Girl. She always asked her mother to tell her the story even though she knew it by heart. The years passed and she was the most popular girl in her village and had a boyfriend. Her hair was a brown, like coconuts, her eyes were as blue as a cloudless day, and her skin was as pale as a straw hat.

Her boyfriend's name was Liam. His hair was just as brown as Nala's, his eyes as green as freshly grown grass, and skin as light as Nala's.

They both thought that they would lead normal lives. But, no. Fate had other plans and planned something really different than from what they expected. This where our story starts. A normal day in their village, Melamela. A new girl just moved in and was alone on her first day until Liam said hi and told her his name. He even said that he had a girlfriend that loves to meet new people. The girl was very shy and told him that she would only say her name if she got to meet Nala. He agreed and set out to Nala's house.

"Hi Liam! Wasn't expecting you today!" Nala exclaimed.

"I wasn't expecting to drop by either. There's also this new girl who moved in. Do you want to meet her?" Liam asked.

"Do I want to meet her. Phhttt. Oh course I want to meet her! What is her name?" Nala asked.

"I don't know. She said that she would tell me if she meets you. So let's go!" Liam exclaimed as he ran to the town square.

"Will you ever wait for me?" Kala shouted as she raced after him.

Liam beat her to the well that was in the middle of the village. Kala caught up out of breath. "You win." Kala breathed heavily as she put her hands on her knees. When she finally caught her breath, she looked up to see a beautiful girl leaning against the well with a far away look in her moon yellow eyes. Her skin was just as pale as her's. Her slightly light purple hair was trailing behind her as the wind blew. She had a purple choker with a stone that looked like a galaxy around her neck. She was wearing a purple shirt, black sweater with black gloves, a white belt, jean blue shorts, and pink sneakers. "She's very beautiful Liam." Nala whispered to him.

"I'm here. This is Nala, my girlfriend." Liam told her.

"Well she's very beautiful. As promised, I'll tell you my name. My name is Nova." Nova introduced herself. "Pleasure to meet you."

"My my. Very polite you are." Nala pointed out.

"Thanks. My father taught me how to be polite to hu-people if I want them to like me." Nova explained while nervously brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. (Her human ears. She has the ability to hid her ears and tail.)

"Well you don't need to be polite. It's how you act around people is what matters." Nala said.

"Really? I'm not used to your culture. I mean to being around other humans. I mean people!" Nova stumbled with her words. Gotta be careful. They are not like me. I'm part wolf part human. They're not. They are full blood humans. Not after what happened years ago. A human actually saw my ears and tail. Luckily, the townsfolk only thought that the human was lying and only made me a legend. Before my parents, humans and wolf people got along peacefully. Now, the last family of wolf people were hunted down and now, I am the only one left. But there is a myth of one more out there. Nova thought.

"Um, hello? Earth to Nova?" Nala asked her for the eighth time.

"Oh, sorry got lost in thought. Maybe you can show me around the village sometime?" Nova asked.

  "Sure. Tomorrow morning?" Liam asked.

"Sounds good. Bye and goodnight!" Nova called after them as they left. After they rounded the corner, she walked to her den in the woods.
