Never at once has Nova felt such confused emotion. She felt anger, rage, confusion, sadness, everything but happiness. She lay down at the floor of her cage pondering her life. Will she be sold as a servant? Will she be sold and than killed? So many questions, such little time.

"We're here wolfy. Come on eat up." The man commanded. She barely picked at the food he gave her. Moldy cheese and bread. All she really craved was to be free of this wretched cage.

The next morning, she was up for sale. "And here we have that last one of these on this region," The man said, he pulled of the tarp, "The last she-wolf". The bidding began at 100 pounds and continued on from there. Nala and Liam were walking through to see what the commotion was about. They stopped in their tracks when they saw who Nova really was.

Nova was clashing at the bars. She only got as far as bending them. "Nova?" Nala asked. "What do you want. To make fun of my capture?" Nova growled. "No. What happened. Why didn't you tell us?" Liam asked. "To keep myself safe. Do you know how heartbreaking it is to watch your own parents murdered in front of you, having to learn survival skills on your own with knowing that your parents aren't there, knowing that your the last of your species, knowing that your family isn't there when you go home!? Well do you!?" Nova yelled at them. Liam and Nala just looked at each other, silent as a mouse. They didn't know how much pain Nova had to endure in her life. "We're sorry. Absolutely sorry about the pain you have to endure. We can buy you to set you free." Nala suggested. "Ummm, how about, no. A person already bought me for 10,000 pounds. I go in the evening." Nova whimpered.

In the evening, the person who bought her came to pick her up, but Nova was growling, and clawing at him. The man took horrible care of her. He had three kids. One of which, by coincidence, was Liam. The man feed her once a day and Nova got very skinny. Scary skinny. Liam often snuck food from his own plate  and gave them to Nova. Liam's siblings were all toddlers, so they often pulled Nova's tail, hair, ears, and clothing. She often scratched them to get them to get them to back off from her, earning herself a full week with nothing but water. Nala came to visit to keep her company.

Nova felt that the few months that the man owned her felt like a few years. Liam took Nova with  him to the market place to buy stuff for his family. Nova eventually got curious and asked Liam about his mother. Liam replied saying that his mother passed away when his youngest sister was one. Nova kept her mouth shut about his family after that. She often attracted lots of looks. Knowing that she doesn't belong in a village full of humans, she felt like an outcast. Another few months went by and a new boy moved into the village.
