Sorry it took me so long to post, had a lot of personal things to take care of. Here's the next chapter, enjoy!

Bao Zheng placed his cell phone back in his pocket. Why did Qing Hua want him to wait anyway? What could be so urgent this late in the evening? Bao Zheng looked around. The street was eerily quiet, not a person in sight. He pulled his bag up on his shoulder and continued walking. His phone rang again; it was Zhen Hua. He sent the call to voicemail.

Bao Zheng picked up the pace as he walked past Magnolia Park near his apartment. The park was dark and slightly foggy, giving it an unnerving feel every time he passed it late at night. His phone began to ring. He huffed as he saw it was Zhen Hua again.

"Hello?" He said.

"Are you avoiding me?"

"No, sorry, I was walking home. What's going on?"

"Your mom keeps bothering me about whether you'll be coming home for your dad's birthday next month," she said.

"Tell her..." Bao Zheng started before he was swung around. The sudden movement made him drop his phone on the ground, shattering the screen.

Bao Zheng gasped. A man held his shoulder tight, wearing a scarf around his mouth. The man's eyes were manic and bloodshot. Bao Zheng knew those eyes and recognized the unmistakable chubby face behind the scarf.

"Yan Tu?" Bao Zheng said. Every inch of his body trembled and he broke into a cold sweat. His immediate thought was to break away, but panic turned his body rigid.

Something in Yan Tu's hand shimmered, catching Bao Zheng's eye. All the color drained from Bao Zheng's face as he finally realized Yan Tu's intent. He met Yan Tu's deranged gaze.

Yan Tu jerked forward. Pain shot up Bao Zheng's side as warm wetness soaked his shirt. He cried out. The knife slid from his flesh and jerked forward again but Bao Zheng shoved Yan Tu away. Bao Zheng grabbed his abdomen and began to run. He had to get as far away from him as possible.

"Help!" Bao Zheng screamed as he made his way towards his apartment building. The pain in his stomach grew into a raw burning sensation and his vision blurred.

He could hear footsteps fast approaching. He tried to speed up but his legs felt like noodles. A boot crashed into his back, sending him flying into the ground. Bao Zheng rolled over just as Yan Tu straddled his bleeding body.

"Yan Tu, please..."

Yan Tu wrapped his hands around his throat and squeezed. Pain flushed Bao Zheng's entire body. His lungs scorched with the need for air. Veins visibly pulsed across his reddening face. Bao Zheng reached up to push Yan Tu away, but he was too strong.

He gripped his scarf and pulled it off, revealing Yan Tu's pale, gaunt face. This act seemed to trigger, or break, something in Yan Tu. He released Bao Zheng's neck. Bao Zheng took a gulp of air, but the wind was knocked out of him as his face was met with a series of hard blows.

"Don't look at me! Don't fucking look at me!" Yan Tu belted as he struck the professor. He looked rabid. Spit, tears, and sweat poured onto Bao Zheng's bruised face.

Bao Zheng struck Yan Tu stomach, sending the boy toppling onto his side. Bao Zheng scurried back, trying to stand but failing. One of his eyes was swollen shut. His thoughts reeled. Behind him, Yan Tu still screeched, "Don't look at me," while clawing at his own face.

Bao Zheng managed to take a few steps away before he was tackled again. He could feel the knife begin to prick his back. He was losing strength. The blade went deeper and deeper into him until just the handle was exposed.

His body completely collapsed.

"Hey, what the fuck are you doing?" Bao Zheng heard in the distance. Yan Tu turned towards the voice of the man approaching, then scrambled and fled into the night.
