Me and my mom didn't say a word for the next hour or so. The doctor came out and we both stood to our feet.

"How is she?" my mom asked

"She's a lucky girl, ma'am" the doctor said smiling.

"So she's okay?" I add

"Yes. She will be fine but she's going to have to stay here a few days for observation."

"Okay. Thank you" mom says.

"Can we go see her?"

"Yes. Follow me"

We follow the doctor down a series of hallways, looks like a maze to me. We arrive at room 215. I open the door to find my beautiful cousin in a bed propped up by a pillow.

"Hey" I said

"Oh my gosh. Hey Marie, I haven't seen you in forever"

"Yeah, I've been pretty busy lately with school and everything."

"We should totally hangout after I get out of this torture chamber"

We laugh a little then mom walks in.

"Hey madds how are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling better than I was an hour ago"

My mom lets out a smile, not a real smile, I can see the worry in her eyes.

"So Marie, I'm going to wait out in the hall. Give you girls time to catch up."

She clicks the door shut behind her.
