Morning came sooner than I thought. I had closed my eyes and next thing I knew it was morning.  I stretched and got out of bed. Feeling great! I couldn't remember a recent morning where I was happy to start the day.

I got ready pretty fast. (Or so I thought) I took a shower then threw on a t-shirt and jeans. I even decided to gel my short black hair. I actually looked pretty decent.

Walking down the stairs I heard the familiar voice of Sam. She always came over before school so we could walk together.

As soon as they saw me they stopped talking. I was now curious.

"Hey Sam. Whatcha guys talking about?" I probed.

My mom and Sam looked at eachother before speaking. This was getting old. First my parents communicating with one look and now my best friend and my mom.

Mom was in the middle of this whole secret. I could feel it. What if she was telling Sam about my weird episode last night? I calmed myself down. They're probably just planning something for my party not wanting me to know.

"We are talking about how long it takes you to get ready! Seriously you take longer than me and that's saying something!" Sam said with a smile on her face.

"I'm sorry the shower felt good I didn't want to get out."

My Mom was now smiling. We shared the same smile. And most of our other features. Like my eyes. We both had striking blue eyes that looked unnatural. The only thing I got from my dad was the dark hair and maybe my tall genes.

"Welp we better get going or else we're gonna be late because of someone ." She glared at me.

First period went by so slow. Mrs. Caulderon collected the homework (that I finished *smirk*) and then we worked in partners on an assignment.

My first choice for my partner was obviously Sam but some guy already asked her before I could. I gritted my teeth. This kid, Andrew I think his name was, had been giving her looks all year. Sam being too nice to say no agreed to be his partner. She gave me a "I"m sorry I couldn't do anything look." Because of this I had to work with Charlie.

Charlie was interesting. He was a kinda-ish friend. You know the one you talk to sometimes in class but then never talk to them outside of it. I've known who he was since second grade and didn't even know his name was Charlie till last year. I felt after he told me his name for the whole day.

Anyways Charlie was really shy unless you got to know him then he was a crazy monster. Sadly I knew the monster part to him too. But he did pull his weight in partner work so that was one good thing about him.

After that the rest of the day went by pretty fast. The only thing that upset me was P.E. I'm usually the best runner or one of the bests and today I flopped. I don't know what happened but it was like I couldn't get enough oxygen.

Did I have asthma? Can I develope asthma at 15? I was the last one to finished the mile. The coach seemed genuinely concerned. He asked if everything was ok. I told him everything was fine. I was still catching my breath in the locker room. I was getting worried.

Right after P.E I had a class with Sam. She didn't seem concerned at all. She acted like it was totally normal. I felt a sharp pain in both sides of my neck. I winced. Was this a side effect of asthma? Maybe I have a lung disease that only starts to manifest when you near 16. After all my birthday was in 3 days.
