Jack was exactly how I remembered him. With his short light brown hair, big bright blue eyes(that wee hiding behind his glasses), and tall build he clearly stuck out. It's not like I haven't seen him in forever. It had only been a year since he left for college.

He entered the bathroom with a toothy grin. "What's up fish boy?" He spoke in the Mer language. Which made me feel a little less left out.

"Look who's talking." I couldn't help but smile.

"I see Mom told you about my more aquatic side."

"She didn't have to. You're speaking my language."

He seemed defeated and held up his hands. "How do you feel?"

"Well physically feel better than I ever had. It's a bit strange though my hearing and sight is..."

"Heightened. All your senses are. Just wait till you change back, you'll notice it right off the bat."

"That's awesome! But mentally I feel drained this is just a lot to take in."

He gave a sympathetic smile "I feel ya..."

There was a knock at the door. "Who is it?" We both said at the same time.

"Dr. Swimmer."

Jack looked at me and smiled. "Have fun."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dr. Swimmer was an old man about 70. He had a lot of hair on his head. White hair, but it was still hair. He was a happy man and as a result had laugh lines. As far as I knew he was alone with no family.
"Nice to see you Gray in this form. It's about time." He chuckled to himself.
"Uh...thanks?"
"Let's take a look at your tail."
I haven't even had a good look at it yet. I raised it up above the tub water. It was bluish green and sparkled brilliantly in the light. My scales didn't stop at my waist. It went up to my belly button except for the sides the rose a couple inches about it.
He got out a funny looking stethoscope and placed the end on my tail. My fin twitched uncomfortably. He took some  notes then placed it on another spot.
Next he checked my arms. I didn't even realize I had fins on them. They were the same color of my tail. They were super sensitive. More so than my tail.
Lastly he checked my neck. I didn't know why. Until he lifted my neck above the water and I couldn't breathe. I had gills.
"Ok that about does it. Any discomfort?"
"No not that I can think of...when can I turn back?"
"I had a feeling you would ask that. You must know that this is your real form now I'm. Any time you have legs is going to be because of magic." He took something out of his case while I was freaking out.
"Magic!? What do you mean magic?!?" Something strange happened as I was freaking out. The sink faucet exploded.
Dr. Swimmer looked at me and sighed. "Gray you need to calm down." I stopped and realized I caused that. "Good now Gray, I need you to drink this for me." He held up a cup with green contents.
I slowly took the cup and put it to my mouth. I slowly allowed the liquid into my mouth. It was awful. I nearly gagged. I knew though that this was the only thing that would give me legs again.
As soon as I downed it I felt a tingly sensation. Then it soon turned to fire. I screamed and wriggled in the limited space of the tub. Then it was all gone. I felt weird. I looked down. Yes! I have legs again! Wait...I'm naked. I quickly covered myself up with a near by towel. As soon as That was over I realized I felt weird. I saw everything perfectly. I could see every unshaven hair on Dr. Swimmers face. I also heard voices and realized that they belonged to my mom and brother. Then I remembered heightened senses.
Dr. Swimmer offered his hand to me. I took it and he pulled me up. I was careful to hold onto the towel with the other hand. It was hard for me to stand. I nearly tripped while hopping over the bathtub side.
"Go get dressed I'm sure your parents want to see you."
"Will do. And thank you for everything." I smiled. I wasn't talking in Mer.
