--- Chapter 4: Enter Yugai Demon of the Shadows ---

{With Kalel and Bankotsu}

Kalel wakes up and all she sees is pitch black. As she tries to remember what happened she heard someone groaning. She then realizes what happened and tried to move towards the groaning hoping it was Bankotsu. Soon her eyes adjusted better to the dark and she was able to locate an unconscious Bankotsu. As she tries desperately to wake up the mercenary a loud menacing laugh roars through the air. Kalel freezes in fear as a dim light appears showing her the exact figure she remembered seeing before she fell unconscious.

"Hello Princess Akemi, it's been a while hasn't it? You haven't changed a bit," he grinned evilly at Kalel.

'Princess Akemi? Who the hell is that? This guy is delusional... Please Bankotsu, wake up soon before this guy eats me or something...' Kalel thought frantically, fear and confusion plastered on her face.

This seemed to only make the figure laugh in amusement.

"My name is Kalel... I don't know who Princess Akemi is, but I'm by no means her," Kalel stated trying to hide her fear.

"Do not try to lie to me Akemi. I will not be fooled again. Now be a good girl, do as I say and maybe I'll let the mercenary go free. What do you say?" he stated sternly eyeing the girl.

'Hm... this is strange her scent is slightly different... but she still looks the same. Is this the work of that damned priestess? She will die for sealing me away and Princess Akemi will die for rejecting me.' he thought with an angry expression.

"I'm not lying... I truly am not the woman you seek... " Kalel said as she continued to try to wake Bankotsu.

As the man seemed deep in thought Bankotsu began to stir and the man seemed to grow angry. He picked up the cage the two humans were in and he threw it forcefully to the wall as he roared. His roar shaking the ground and causing rocks to fall from above. Bankotsu's eyes shot wide open as he instinctively wrapped his arms around Kalel to cushion her fall.

"Hm I suppose you are not whom I think you are, though you bear a remarkable resemblance. So I shall just take my frustration out on you little girl," he smirked and began to make his way to Kalel and Bankotsu.

He rips the top of the cage and pried Kalel from Bankotsu, forgetting of what happened when he first abducted her. Bankotsu was then all of a sudden flung to Kalel. Growing ever more frustrated the man picked up Bankotsu dropping Kalel as he began to tighten his grasp on the young mercenary. Kalel looks up feeling useless she hears a familiar voice.

"Come to me. Find me." Kalel looks to her left and sees Banryu up against the wall.

She ran toward it hoping to reach it before she was forced to Bankotsu. Just as she felt to pull she was able to wrap a hand around the hilt of Banryu and brought it with her. The mark that she shares with Bankotsu began to glow along with his, this alerted Bankotsu in time to move slightly to the left so he wouldn't get hit by Banryu. Kalel made it so that the man's arm was slashed by the giant halberd she wielded.  

'So she can wield Banryu...' thought Bankotsu with astonishment written on his face as he hit the ground with a hard thud.

Kalel ran over to Bankotsu handing him Banryu.

"We have to get out of here quickly while he's down," she tried to help him up, "come on Bankotsu please." Kalel looked at Bankotsu frantically. He propped Banryu on his shoulder and grabbed Kalel's hand and they ran to the only light in the cave besides the dim candles. As they exited the cave they heard a screeching roar thunder its way out of the cave.
